Madden retires from broadcasting
NEW YORK (AP) -- John Madden is calling it quits.
NBC said Thursday that the burly ex-coach who has been one pro football's top broadcast analysts has decided to retire. The 73-year-old Madden has been working for the past three seasons on NBC's Sunday night NFL game. His last telecast was the Super Bowl between Arizona and Pittsburgh.
Since he left coaching in 1979, the former Oakland Raiders coach has worked as an analyst for all four broadcast networks. His "Madden NFL Football" is the top-selling sports video game of all time.
Madden is reluctant to fly and often traveled to games in a specially-equipped bus. He said in a statement that he still loves all aspects of the job, "but I know this is the right time."

Him and Al Michaels weren't too bad because Michaels knew when to shut up and let Madden talk. Yeah I am all for the NO Collingsworth pe ion. lol

He is just an arrogant prick from what I can tell. Ever since I heard that asshole rant about some staffer getting him the wrong soda I have hated him ever since. I never really liked him that much to begin with. I can't stand that "ber, ber, ber" crap that he does or did. lol

I just liked him for the simple fact he knew wtf he was talking about. More than you can say for alot of other so-called commentators. It's going to suck not hearing him on Thanksgiving anymore talking about that Turduckden of his.
Too late...rumors is that he will be taking Madden's spot.
