The fact that you guys are so uptight and bothered by them gives us conservatives much satisfaction!
Really? They didn't bother me at all.

If a bunch of people want to hang around downtown and waste their time shouting and walking to and fro, who am I to stop them? Good on them for organizing and coming together peacefully.

With this one piece of insight which you have brought the full force of your intellect to bear upon,I think you've finally showed the world what you're capable of......... to be a reporter for CNN.
t_d_f said some stupid things, which I let him have it for, and some things that make sense, which I acknowledged. You ignored the criticism and highlighted the acknowledgment.

There's hardly any cause for me to be concerned with the selectivity of your take, micca: everybody else reads and remembers and will form his own impression, based partly on the impressions already made, and partly on what's actually there in the thread.

What's actually there tends to refute your gloss. That you fail to read the thread but just pop off instead doesn't come as any surprise. But it would be foolish to assume that everybody else does the same.

Wow that assesment is so pathetic, and preditable it's unworthy of a response by grown up people.I think ese you've found a kindred mind with t-d-f.
I love that you started out like this, then went on to repost the quote and give your grown up take.

    The self-pwnage streak continues.

In 1984, who would've ever thought, in this country, that the Federal Government would
The government has taken over businesses before.

    - have a stake in private enterprises
    It's happened before.

    - fire the CEO of a major company
They didn't; they asked him to resign. He did.

    - dictate the pay of executives
Doesn't the government dictate the pay of President? Congress? Military? Government employees?

    - dictate what kind of cars we can drive
you're not allowed to buy a certain car? Really? Which one?

    - dictate what kind of lightbulbs we can use
    Which lightbulbs?

    - dictate where we can set our thermostat
    Now you're just kidding right?

    - dictate where and when we can pray
Really? They've got a set regimen? Or do you mean, dictate where and when public officials can use prayer in a public setting?

    - dictate the terms of your mortgage
This is the first one to have SOME validity, albeit in a very stretched way. They can change some terms, not the whole thing.

And that, my clueless friend, is why people are angry and fed up! Only time will tell if this movement continues to grow and have any impact on the 2010 elections.
Do you bother to research the things you hear on the air Crookshanks? Honestly?

The post RTC rules governing "prompt action" by the FDIC in the face of any situation posing *any significant adverse impact* on the US taxpayer, require the FDIC to take over insolvent banks, and were completely ignored.

There wasn't any transparency, so the rules weren't followed. There still isn't any, and now the FDIC is back-stopping the PIFP's with no-recourse loans. They're supposed to insure our ing deposits.

How will they ever do that when the highly complex PIFP financial scheme loses money the way it was designed to?

I saw these clowns when I had to drop off my taxes at the post office. They are a joke, I actually saw a sign that said "I don't have a job, but if I did I'd be angry". WTF is that

One thing I did notice which I thought was peculiar was that 95% of the group protesting was white. Not that there is anything wrong with that but in a city with as many different ethnic groups like San Diego you'd think there would be a bigger representation of the cities demographics. A main reason repubs are fading into obscurity. They need to become much more inclusionary if they ever wanna be relevant again. Less taxes as the only thing your party can agree on will only take you so far.

You don't have to say that, it's not like we're all gay.

It's not that republicans/conservatives are not inclusive, it's that the majority of blacks are democrats/liberals.

Well alot of their major platforms can be considered not inclusive and many times has racial overtones. Illegal immigration, the war in Iraq, gay marriage, etc. Not that those stances are necessarily racist or non inclusive just that the way they are sold to the public by other republican voters and sometimes even their elected officials has lots of ugly messages. Mexicans are criminals and are here to steal your jobs and suck up free services, Muslims are terrorists, and so on. The republican party does not come across as inclusive at all. I think they are making a big effort to change this view, but they still have lots of work to do.

Not where I was and San Diego has a huge Asian American population, especially Filipino. Maybe it's just here. It was just something I noticed. But either way republicans need to go after the "minority vote".

According to Janeane Garofalo, there were about racism. She believes that that every person at all of the Tea Party rallies were racists and rednecks.

It wasn't just about taxes, you idiot, it was about the Federal Government getting too big and intruding on our lives in ways our forefathers never intended.
Bush enacted policies that infringe on my personal rights are much scarier than any of these financial issues.

I think this is the first citation of Janeane Garofalo I've ever seen in this forum. She's a former stand up comic, right?

Why can't people have a protest about taxes? I mean if people can have protests about global warming and gay marriage, why can't they have protests about taxes?

Yeah, at least there were no fat, hairy sexual men parading around in speedos and half shirts demanding the right to get married to their equally hairy partners!
