bonner was the one dropping deuces on the court.
I hate writing this! After last nite's game I came to the conclusion that the hand Pop is playing is short on aces and long on deuces. Even with Dirt ineffective & Kidd a non-factor the Mavs made us look like we were running uphill all nite. Jezz, Dampier even looked like someone we could use!!! The Mavs looked confident even when down 13.The reality is that we are motoring on two wheels. Anytime Tony comes out of the game we are LOST on offense. Tim gave as much as he will. The bench can't maintain.
Mason is really not a good point guard because he can't penetrate. I'd rather see Vaughn run the O with Mason at the 2. Teams have figured out Bonner on both ends of the court. Fin is giving it 100% but he always needs a set play to score and is no stopper on D. Gooden still seems lost on both ends sometimes unless he goes 1 on 1. The reality is we are not younger/more athletic than last season[-Ian/ Splitter]. It might be time to give George and Marcus some time with the second unit along with Gooden. Tony was spent by the 3rd and Beria knew it. Tony can't play point for 40 minutes---they know it and will exploit it on Monday. Finally, I believe the team really knows it's playing on borrowed time and that's why Pop made his forget "Manu" comments. Even with a healthy Manu I'd be pessimistic that we could get by LA or the Cavs. Can't wait for 2010 to retool.

well then just roll her in flour and look for a wet spot![]()
Sorry guys, that's been my gut feeling even before they tipped off yesterday. One team's healthy (and younger) the other isn't. I do expect a win on Monday but then they'll drop two in Dallas (joey crawford refs one of them, book it!) Come back for game 5 and win, and then Dallas finishes em off in 6 at dallas. Guys, I hope I'm wrong about all this but that's just what I'm feeling will happen. I'll come back and bump this if wrong.
I'll go as far as saying Dallas in 5...but I hope its Spurs in 5.
Has nothing to do with health IMO. It has everything to do with a -head of a coach. Mavs in 5.
i knew finley insured a 1st round exit for you guys when he sank that 3 against the hornets to secure the mavs/spurs 1st round matchup.
The Mavs are the only team which can beat the spurs in the playoffs except for the Lakers
But i still believe
the fat lady hasn't even rolled out of bed yet
We lose one game and the series is already decided? WTF is wrong with you people? In 2003, 2005, and 2007 (we lost game 1 to the scrub Nuggets) we also lost the first game in the first round. Relax yourselves! In 2006 we won game 1 aganst the Mavs in the Conf Semis and still lost the series.
Spurs played defense and had Manu in previous years.
They have neither now.
The mavs have alot more intensity than our current spurs.
thats the main thing.
In 2003, the Spurs were 60-22 and lost Game 1 to a 44-38 Phoenix team. In 2005, the Spurs were 59-23 and lost Game 1 to a 49-33 Nuggets team. In 2007, the Spurs were 58-24 and lost Game 1 to a 45-37 Nuggets team.
Point being: in past years when the Spurs lost Game 1 at home, they were clearly still the better team than the opposition. Losing Game 1 at home is a much bigger problem when the two teams are as evenly matched as the Mavs and Spurs this year are.
That being said, the series is far from over. But I wouldn't give any credence to this "Spurs have lost Game 1 before" thing. It's irrelevant.
one year we won the first 2 games against the Lakers, the lakers came back and one 4 straight.....that still burns.
But... I picked the Spurs in 5... so... you are wrong.
Dont give up yet, we shouldnt be so negative after this loss, we still have chances, and im confident we will take them, kick their asses and advance to the next round. GO SPURS GO
One team's younger? They're both around the same age. Except one team has a stud who's 25 years old and he isn't on the Mavs.
spurs will win the rest of there games against the mavs...book it
Usually I'd say a dominant Mavs' performance would make the Spurs get a real youth movement started, but I'm sure it'll be "Manu was injured" from the FO.
We lost this series when Popovich announced that George Hill wasn't going to play. He literally said, "This series isn't for him."
Thank you, coach. There are 14 other guys who play for you who would disagree with that brilliant assessment.
why is there a need for this thread?..go post in another thread, you aren't special..
That's your problem you have no guts!
