Sorry, but he actually did touch Terry, but that was after the Mason contact on him.
wHAT WAS THE POINT OF WASTING A TIME OUT THERE??????
I WAS SCREAMING FOR TIME OUT AFTER KURT GOT THAT BALL.
Anyway. Should we start Gooden in the second half??????? Can we afford to start Bonner and take the risk?
Sorry, but he actually did touch Terry, but that was after the Mason contact on him.
Our Spurs need to come out like savages in the 3rd quarter.
Ok - we just gotta calm down and regroup. If they come out with the same intensity to start the 3rd, they'll be okay.
I just wish the refs wouldn't have helped the Mavs so much. How many FT's did the Spurs get in the 1st half? I mean TP was in the paint all night long - how many freethrows did he get?
Bonner's got +15
When you have to send two guys after the ball, leaving Parker to have to cover Dampier under the basket, leaving Terry alone in the corner for a wide open three, I question one of two things: Your personnel or your defensive strategy.
I guess defense-wins-championships is really dead in favor of try-to-outscore-the-other-guy.
we gotta turn up the defense again in the 3rd. got lazy the last half of the 2nd.
Yup...the refs have GIVEN the Mavs at least 6-8 points on horse phantom fouls. I'm surprised they actually called a Flagrant 1 against the Mavs.
If Pop doesn't make the in-game adjustments and we lose, it's all on him. We have the right pieces to beat these guys.
That's a foul but fisher jumping on barrys back was not go figure.
Bonner's been great. This is in no way the same guy that's played for the Spurs the last couple of weeks. I have zero complaints with his play in this game.
am i the only one who wishes unthinkable things when mavs players smile?
Gooden needs to start the 3rd quarter.
I hope the not.
Elliott said he gives up on trying to undertstand the officiating??? , I wish I could hear some Bill/Sean commentary.![]()
My assessment of the 1st half
Tony is kicking ass. Gooden came to play. Bonner has done decent. Udoka doing all the dirty work. For the first 20 minutes, our D was awesome. Last 4 minutes, too many open 3s allowed. We got foolish on offense in the last few minutes....bad shots and some careless turnovers. The refs are giving the Mavs a lot of bull calls, especially Dirk. I believe the Mavs have shot like 20 FTs to our 8 or so. We are attacking the basket just as much as they are, yet we aren't getting to the line as often.
We need Parker to remain of fire. We need to feed Duncan and Gooden down low. We need Mason and Finley to stay hot from the outside.........we need our D to stay strong.....and no more damn open 3s.
At least they'll be well prepared to what the two games in Dallas will be like
he might have 2 3s but he's given up at least 8 on defense.
I hope Tony is not too gassed from scoring. Defense needs to tighten up, they keep letting this Mavericks team back in. Nice effort from Gooden off the bench.
What else? Oh yeah, the refs blow.
Stupidest post ever. I've been on a bunch of forums over the years and never seen as much ridiculous homerism and ty grammar and spelling as I've seen here. Adios, idiots.![]()
It only took two flagrant fouls for them to finally call one. Tony Parker could be a Laker or a Knick one day; the refs have to try to protect him a little bit.
They still can't stop Parker or Duncan, or Gooden for that matter. We just gotta keep out head.
Let us hire the Mavs shooting coach to train Tony!
The reffing has become so bad it's ruining games.
No-one knows what a block/charge is any more, nor what sort of contact is allowed where, and they constantly make mistakes in the last 2 minutes of games that should be reviewable but aren't. It's ruining the game.
I think we need a "video ref" sitting on the sidelines, who the refs can refer to in the last 2 minutes of halves.
We also need to get back to a proper block/charge call paradigm - far too many charges are called these days. You have to be set to get the block.
Don't even remind me of that nonsense...refs
