Who would bring up his first few games back in the active rotation at this point in time, but a hater?
When has Bonner missed a game? He's been playing crappy since the Indiana game, look it up.

you can prop a player up, or you can hate on him ... there's different terminologies. I prefer propping as the verb form of 'giving props'.
Giving a guy props means giving him credit when he plays well. Saying how wonderful he is when he stinks up the joint is called lying.

Your comment about me being stupid was what I found 'unsatisfactory,' so stop playing the fool. You calling me stupid for defending him is the same as me calling you out for not giving him more chances, perhaps you're in the wrong place as well?
I thought he stunk and should have been pulled from the game, and certainly not reinserted in the 4th quarter when the Spurs ultimately lost the game and the lineup of Duncan and Gooden was so effective. If you actually defended Bonner's performance in that game, then I dub you "stupid". Deal with it.

Agreed. I conceded immediately in my initial postings that Matt had a bad game 1. From that point on, I simply defended him from those calling out his role on the team - not those critiquing his play of the night, which again, I conceded. Give the man some chances, he could be a big time help like he was tonight. He gave Dirk nothing easy and contested everything, he rebounded well and battled inside, got some hands in on loose balls, just a very solid game.
He got chances in game one, and unfortunately it cost the Spurs the game. My problem was more with Pop than it was with Bonner. If you were defending his role on the team, then you never had an issue with me, because I simply pointed out that he sucked. I also pointed out that he didn't suck as bad as Finley did. I missed the posts where you go nuts defending Fin.

Stupid is in the eye of the beholder - AFAIC, you're the one being stupid by judging me on my posting while not expecting the same for himself. One compiles a mental list of every weakness Matt possesses for a single game's performance, then immediately props that same player for "a completely different performance" afterwards. THAT'S stupid. Why? Because its the same Matt Bonner you just hated on, doing the exact opposite and doing it well. Stick it out during the good times and bad, or at least keep your facts straight and realize he has a limited role which could not have costed the Spurs Game 1.
I'm not sure what mental list you're referring to, but Matt's performance was completely different, and anyone that watched both games will agree with me. Sticking it out during good times and bad is for marriages, not for basketball games. If a guy's getting torched, or is having a bad night, you don't keep going to him if there's someone else that's having a good night and playing well, especially in the playoffs. And when a starter goes out and has such a horrible performance in an 8 point loss, he deserves some of the ing blame.

It's only bragging to those who savagely attacked him, and are now feeling guilty for being so harsh on him. For me, its just continuing to support a limited player in pushing the Spurs team to the top.
It's only bragging when you act like it means something that you were sticking by him all along on a message board. For me, it's just you being too stupid to objectively evaluate the performances of the individual players and keeping it separate from personal feelings about the individual on the team. I'm certainly not going to go out and explain the difference to you.

I conceded he a had bad game, can you read or do you just choose to be closed minded?

I thought he stunk and should have been pulled from the game, and certainly not reinserted in the 4th quarter when the Spurs ultimately lost the game and the lineup of Duncan and Gooden was so effective. I didn't defend Bonner's performance from the game. Which why calling me stupid for doing is such a bag hater move, which you are both.

He got chances in game one, and unfortunately it cost the Spurs the game.

18 minutes, one shot, -8 (finley was a -20, so dont act like it was because he played with the starters). you're a to say he cost the spurs the game when Finley's defense cost the spurs numerous buckets, including dirk's dunk on bonner where finley was supposed to double baseline as soon as he dribbled and apparently just forgot, leaving bonner to the ing wolves.

My problem was more with Pop than it was with Bonner.
So what's stupid about defending him from the haters blaming him for Pop's mistakes? Gooden should have played for him, I said so myself before I ever defended his role.

If you were defending his role on the team, then you never had an issue with me, because I simply pointed out that he sucked.
The only issue I had with you was calling me stupid for defending him, you call someone stupid for responding to another poster. Call me crazy for defending myself now that you've gone from attacking Bonner, to attacking Bonner's supporters.

I also pointed out that he didn't suck as bad as Finley did. I missed the posts where you go nuts defending Fin.
Yeah, you also missed all those threads and posts about Finley costing us the game, you did catch the Bonner ones I presume.

I'm not sure what mental list you're referring to
The one you make of roleplayer flaws, like Bonner, Kyle Korver, Rasual Butler etc

but Matt's performance was completely different
Like i assumed would happen as opposed to your "sky is falling" responses about him choking and getting benched

and anyone that watched both games will agree with me.
Of course, anyone can be objective and see he would bounce back, you choose not to.

Sticking it out during good times and bad is for marriages, not for basketball games.
Considering Pop "never even considered taking Bonner out of the starting lineup" after game 1 (according to an new article in a thread here), I think you're the one with little idea as to what's good and bad for basketball games.

If a guy's getting torched, or is having a bad night, you don't keep going to him if there's someone else that's having a good night and playing well, especially in the playoffs.
No , how is this Bonner's fault he was played? See, you don't even know you're hating you're so blind.

And when a starter goes out and has such a horrible performance in an 8 point loss, he deserves some of the ing blame.
Of course. Just nowhere near the amoutn you're pinning on him, period. Go read timvp's gamethoughts or some quotes from popovich and I think you'll be forced to agree.

It's only bragging when you act like it means something that you were sticking by him all along on a message board.
Um... let's just be honest here. you should feel stupid for calling Bonner out only to be made a fool the very next game. I'm pretty much the only one with room to speak on this situation, considering you basically said Bonner cost us the game and then he came out and was a big part of a blowout win.

He played heady tonight, basically said "Don't judge me on one game," like you did.

For me, it's just you being too stupid to objectively evaluate the performances of the individual players and keeping it separate from personal feelings about the individual on the team.[/quote]

You calling me stupid is so ironic, while continuing to believe yourself objective. You're a bag, that's for certain, but its almost sad how far up your own ass you have your head stuck. I mean, really? Matt Bonner cost us the game? That's so stupid and I could give you reason after reason he didn't, and couldn't. His effect on the game is just not that dramatic.

Bonner sucks, plain and simple. Only an idiot would continue to applaud his mediocre skills, especially during crunch time.

I don't understand why 250 forum members act like Bonner's surrogate mothers.
I can't figure out the logic behind the Bonner-apologists during the season.

They make a thread for him averaging 1-2 three pointers a game which accounts for his high percentage.
They swoon when he out rebounds a midget.
They say " yeah", when he almost loses the ball but recovers when the ball is swung to him.
They stand up and cheer when his inbound passes aren't being intercepted.

I think maybe some of the pro-Bonner posters see a little bit of themselves in Bonner, living the NBA dream vicariously through him. "If He had made it, maybe I could have made it when I was younger..If I just tried a little harder"
