Not really since you're the only one who thinks it's still funny. Especially since the boys in boys was the reason the spurs got their chodes bloaded in game 1.

Nope, the circle jerking Mavs fans don't think it is funny, but never have you heard a punch line laugh.

I look at Dampier's statement in a couple of ways:

    1. This is simply "talk" and he is putting the thought in Tony's head so that every time he does come in the lane he is looking for the Hammer to come down and it distracts his shot or pass. Not a bad idea.

    2. He figures he will simply put a hard foul on him to make him think twice about it. By doing so early, even if it is a flagrant One it does not really cost his team but rather fires up the crowd. Still not a bad move.

    3. He knocks TP on his ass and either gets thrown out of the game or gets a suspension the next game. But it causes parker to play poorly and the Mavs get a win because of it. Fine, Damp is not exactly a scoring machine anyway and with Bass and Hollins (who should be playing more or Singleton same) we don't really lose that much. Again not a bad move.

    4. He almost kills Parker knocking him out of the game and or series and Spurs lose. Mean while Damp gets susptended. (see #3)

Personally, having watched Dampier since day 1 in Dallas, i can say that he is not really an enforcer. In fact he generally needs a kick in the pants once a week just to get him to play hard/strong. So this is probably just rhetoric. Yeah he might foul him but i don't think he will do much more than that.

However, the seed has been planted in Tony's brain and might affect his game a little. If it works, it is genius. If it doesn't nothing is really lost.

He is trying to get into Parker's head plain and simple. It's a tactic that has been used for decades in sports.

However, the seed has been planted in Tony's brain and might affect his game a little. If it works, it is genius. If it doesn't nothing is really lost.
There is no guarantee it has been planted, if Parker is smart, he just lets it go and doesn't dwell on it. I would imagine he already knows that when he goes to the hole he gets hit no matter who he plays and my guess is he accepts it or just doesn't care judging by the fact that he still does it so it probably doesn't phase him.

man, did you follow the spurs in the past few years ? do you know how many assholes have tried to talk smack to the spurs during PO (nuggets, suns, sonics......).

the only thing it can do is making the ref aware. that's all.

Do you watch your own team? If Dampier gets knocked out, Mavs will not miss his scoring, but his defense and rebounding. If that happens, you won't have to worry about TP, you will have TD to worry about.

Yes i watched every game. And i have seen enough of Hollins and Singleton to know that those 2 guys combined with Bass would do a better job than Damp.

I am not the only one here in Dallas screaming play Hollins and or Singleton more and Damp less.

Singleton is a lot like Diop, strong quick, good shot blocker and decent defender but not a real scoring threat.

Hollins is an ex high jumper. He is long and VERY athletic. He will dunk from anywhere. He is also very quick and very long. If he was heavier he would be a starting center right now. He is about 7 foot and 235. But man he can jump.

I would much rather see those 3 guys playing 10-20 minutes each at center and Bass picking up 10 minutes at the 4 while Dirk rests.

    you're forgetting something

whether or not Dampier does it or not Parker is intimidated big time

    Wishful thinking...

you think nobody has thought of that before? If only it were that easy.

He's a driving point guard, he is wreckless. He doesn't care if this dude is threatening to hurt him:

"I'm used to it," Parker said. "It's no different for me. I'm still going to try to penetrate and be aggressive. I'm definitely going to be on the ground, but I'll get up."

Singleton was getting abused by both Gooden and Oberto in garbage time last night. You think he has a chance against a HOF?

No wonder you're a Mav fan.

Are you saying that because of the fact that the home team so far in this series has definitely gotten a "home court advantage" with the officiating as well? I can't even begin to count how many moving picks were set, how many times Parker and others pushed off on offense, and the way Dirk would get the mess hacked out of him and no call.

No worries though, thats the benefit of HCA, always has been, and always will be. I expect the Mavs to get some of those calls the next 2 games, and for the got Spurs fans to cry like the crybaby es they are.

The league will now be ready for a flagrant foul call. Probably an automatic flagrant two since it's premeditated.

    Nice going, Damp.
    We can only hope that

    1) He carries through with this.

    and

    2) Tony doesn't get hurt.

Please let Dampier be that stoopid...

You are en led to your opinion, but I lived in Dallas for 6 years and I still have tons of friends who are Mav fans and I do not hear them screaming to play Damp less. They complain about his contract, but as far as his play goes, if he was making 4-5 million a year, everyone would be perfectly happy.

Hollins, Bass and Singleton are wayyyyyyy to small to guard Duncan. They would get murdered over the course of a series. Singleton like Diop? He is not nearly as long or good defensively.
