Shocking that the player who has never had more than 4 fouls called against him didn't get this.
Big props to Guillermo for including his IQ in his screen name.
Did I get any votes? I need to work on falling down..err taking charges on defense.
your not a rockets fan.
Bruce Bowen has only averaged 2.8 rebounds per game for his career while Ron Artest has averaged 5.1 RPG and Shane Battier 4.8 RPG. In 2006-2007 when fans were clamoring for Bruce to win DPOY he only had 2.7 RPG in 30 MPG. Finley and Udoka even have better rebounding numbers than Bruce does. It is his one weakness as an all-around defensive player.
Look at Wade, he had 5.0 RPG and 1.3 blocks per game this season as a 6'4" G.
Since Finley has better rebounding numbers, Spurs fans should start clamoring for Finley to win DPOY?
Dwight Howard is probably the worst Defensive Player of the Year ever. If he's such a good defender, why did Orlando lose Game 1? I'll tell you why, because he isn't that good and the DPOY will be going home in the first round this year.
So what you're saying it that having the DPOY guarantees that you can never lose a game?
Makes perfect sense...
No way in Orlando loses that series...
Nobody ever penalized Bowen on their ballot because of his low rebounding numbers, that's absurd. You can't possibly make the argument that the results would have been different if Bowen had averaged 6 rpg instead of 3-4. Voters look for the gaudy stats like 12 rpg or 3 bpg... or occasionally they'll be swayed by year-long hype and campaigning on behalf of a player without gaudy stats (like Garnett or Artest.)
Bowen lost to Ben Wallace's reputation and stats, Ron Artest's hype and Marcus Camby's stats.
And it didn't help him or Duncan they tended to split votes.
That sig is awesome.
