If it was the other way around, Spurs fans would be glad some player was going to knock the guy on his ass. How many here wanted precisely that same thing done to Barrea in game one.
Yup...that's why they're called FOULS.![]()

Spurs will shoot 250 FT's in game 3, thanks to Damp
BUT WAIT !!!!!!!!! what if Joey Crawford officiates game 3 ??????????????????
You're not paying much attention, are you? How many Spurs players would be stupid enough to come out and say they were going to knock a guy to the floor and hurt them? We're not saying Erick is wrong to want to do it...we're saying he's stupid that he said it to the National Media. Though, if he did it, Ime Udoka would destroy his ass. Ask people who know about Udoka. Dude can scrap, and he DAMN sure would go after someone for taking out Tony.
Parker has shown an ability to get up from hits and keep playing his own game.
Erick Dampier saying this means nothing and won't cause Tony to change his game at all.
Tony needs to drive directly at Dampier on first possesion, and when Dampier goes to "put him on his back", Tony needs to put a knee into Dampier's groin. Nothing could be better than watching Dampier flop around on the floor.
Dirk was so out of control and in such an epic choke mode last night that it wouldnt have mattered if no one was guarding him. He appeared to be shooting without any confidence the ball would go in.
I didnt even think of that...
You're not paying much attention, are you? He did not say he was going to hurt him.
Spurs fans need to know if they call a tight game, Thomas, Gooden and Bowen will be sitting on the bench in foul trouble, too.
yeah, because he's going to pick him up and lay him on the floor softly like a baby
Wrong! We are talking about speaking through the media. Whatever he said or meant which was sent through the media.
When the NBA reviews these comments, they should decide that Dampier's statements aren't punishable. Declaring that you're going to foul someone in an upcoming game isn't malicious, unless the actual foul itself is. It's a very stupid thing to say for obvious reasons (locker room material for Spurs, motivation for Parker, closer scrutiny from refs, etc.), but not something you fine a player for.
If he said he was going to hurt Parker, then there'd be something to review, but Dampier simply said that he's going to make life rough for Parker in the paint. Ericka should have done that in Game 2.
How many here thought the key for Game 2 was going to be Kidd posting up on Parker?

I did not see the link to the ESPN discussion (video) and article.
NBA Security Interviews Dampier:
"Dampier will be interviewed by league security officials about his statements"

I'm sorry..if a guy specifically comes out and says one person is going to be knocked on their back in his first foul, that is intent to hurt. Don't be a just because you don't like the Spurs...that's just ignorant..you're letting your hatred blind you.
I've already tried to explain that to him...he doesn't pay attention.
This just makes me even more excited to see what will happen in game 3...
Whether Dampier was smart to say in public what we all know goes on in private is stupid.
I'm constantly amazed by Tony's ability to slither through cracks in the lane defense by teams that load up the space, seemingly without getting fouled.
But you have to take seriously the thought of a 7' 300 pound guy going headhunting. He doesn't have to be a martial arts guy. Just one swat of one of his arms could seriously hurt Parker. It's all part of the game, and I'm sure Tony accepts the risk, but I'm gonna be praying for him. Our season and our future depend on Parker.
Doesn't Parker end up on his back after every basket? Whether he gets contact or not?
This doesn't seem like much of a threat.
seriously, im sure there is a small seed being planted in Tony's head
maybe he's not scared of contact but im sure in the back of his mind, he ponders the possibility of a blatant cheap shot. and with a guy that big u could land wrong and get injured.
nice work dampier![]()
I doubt it. The way Parker plays, he faces that fear every game. All Dampier did was state something that Parker has come to expect. If he was younger, maybe, now I don't think so.
Dampier is an idiot. All this does is make the refs look closer to his fouls and anything that looks like a su ious foul will be a flagrant or an early ejection.
oh please
I've seen Shaq's whole body land on Parker the way a house landed on the wicked witch of the west. And he was still taking it to him the next plays like nothing happened.
You've seen your Mav players play scared and choke before that you think every NBA player is like that
Funniest thing I've read all day. Pure gold!![]()
