Insiders close to the team site that the call was passed down from Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban (who could not be reached for questioning while being treated for a water-cooler related injury) who's office released the press statement that this was "just time for the Mavs to start over". When asked about why such a drastic procedure was necessary, Dirk himself was quoted as saying,"Nguuh. Naaar. Guhguhguh. (gurgling throat noise) Nhah! Nghuuuh! Guh!". Seemingly upset by the microphones and all the bright lights, the Dallas big man was given a juice box and a square of sample carpet to sit on. Team officials still expect him to start Thursday in game three/round one of the play-offs against the Spurs in Dallas.
