Click on link above for full article. It looks better with pictures anyway:
Eric Dampier was quoted in the Dallas Morning News as saying: "Every time he drives the lane, we have to put him on his back. The first foul has to tell him that he's in for a long night. My first foul on Thursday night is going to put him on his back. I guarantee it."
Why is that stupid? Because there's about an 80-85 percent chance that was going to happen anyway. That's how Parker plays. The way he throws his body around, usually a regular foul is going to put him on his back with nothing intentional or flagrant about the fouls committed.
Now, the league's eyes will be focused on Dampier. That hard foul he put on Tony in the 2nd quarter of game 2 wasn't a flagrant foul and a regular shooting foul was the right call. But if he does that again, it's a flagrant. He's essentially taken the home-court call off the table for the Dallas Mavericks.
Stupid stuff like that is the reason that while the Mavs raise their voices, the Spurs just raise trophies.

It is going to be interesting to see what adjustments the Mavs make in game 3. I think the Spurs need to be constantly throwing different looks at Barrea because he caused the most problems for the Spurs in game 1. Look for Dirk to get all the calls at home and since he is in his own gym, he may have a breakout game, but if the Spurs can control Barrea and Terry, they should be alright.![]()
It's actually my article, but thanks SouthTexasRancher.
Taking it to the Hole, Dirk actually did get calls in Game 2. 8 of his 14 points were from the line. The key was ball-denial and defense. It's easier to stop him than it is Terry.
Stop worrying about Barrea and worry about Howard, he is the one that can get you.
Very good writing...dug the article.
That's even better. Good work!!! I love the look of the Mavs on the bench.. They look like someone just told them that Santa wasn't real.
honestly, as a basketball player myself, i could never imagine myself talking trash. im really compe ive and play hard and sometimes during the heat of the game i might, but not out there in the media like the Mavs are. just puts more and more pressure on me to perform. but i have to stick with them even if i dont agree with them
Yeah, if you're a Mavs fan you're just shaking your head. When was the last time a talker did something great? It just doesn't happen. The talkers always end up at the butt-end of the highlights and the story. "We're gonna shock the world." That's why Joe Namath is the only guy EVER to win a big game after outwardly talking trash.

It's a better-looking version of the page you were being sent to before.
Thanks.
Why in the world did they move this thread? Strange considering it had good Spurs photos and a classic Mavs photo. Oh well, I just run the popcorn concession around here so what do I know!![]()
