Blackhawks are pulling a Mavericks.
Thanks for the thoughts
BTW, Canucks looking strong ; Luongo is alive and well
Blackhawks are pulling a Mavericks.
I dont agree with that. Theyre in a tough series. Calgary is no push over, Wings fans can tell you from experience.
There is a reason they are the 4th and 5th seed...theyre a close matchup.
Chicago beat them twice on their ice, they got beat twice on Calgary's ice.
Thats playoff hockey. Nothing like basketball in anyway shape or form. Just because one team is more skilled on paper doesnt mean on a stick with regards to hockey. Its all about, drive, determination, defense and goaltending. The 8 seed beating the 1 seed is not uncommon in hockey, whereas its the ultimate upset of all time in basketball.
Anyway, I dont want to come across as preachy. For all I know, youre 60 years old and remember the last time the Hawks won the Cup and here I am trying to explain how playoff hockey works.![]()
Ah, thankee sai.
I think i know why you hate the Habs; I think it has something to do with the number 24![]()
Spot on. But, not because the organization has won 24 times. I dont like the Habs because some/most of their fans feel like theyve been on the ice for a majority of those Cups. I like the team, I like the players, I like management.
I hate the media and detest their fans. Always bringing that up when (no offense) Montreal hasnt won -all in 16 years.
BTW, youre not one of those fans.
O, rly?By the way, Carey Price pulled a " Roy " tonight; the crowd was booing, and he raised his arms, like Roy did before his trade to Colorado (you know, during that game when the Red Wings drilled him 8-1 in Montreal)
... ing 15 year old kids running around screaming "24! 24! hahahaaa". Kid, you werent even alive in 1993, much less '86.
Thanks man, I'm clearly NOT one of those obnoxious fans
Yeah, a lot of Habs fans are re ed; it must be their French heritage (I lived in France, but I'm not French, so I know how their sport fans are, trust me)
Booing Price was re ed; I'm not his biggest fan, but poor kid
The press? there os only one guy that I like, Francois Gagnon, from... La Presse.
This guy is not only a brilliant analyst, but he is not a homer; also, he doesn't talk about off-ice stuff
the Montreal press; they always need a story; " Higgins seen partying in a nightclub !!!! " WTF?
Before Theodore was traded to Colorado, he had a knee injury; one re ed reporter suspected him of faking it, and he went as far as putting a camera not too far from Theo's house; they showed the video on TV, you could see Theo limping
The reporter was really critized that night on TV by his own colleagues live
Oh yeah, and those 15 year olds...0even worse, teenagers talking about Maurice Richard or Guy Lafleur![]()
Sharks are 1 loss away from the completing the choke job.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!! We are back in this thing.
Flyers win....3-0![]()
yeah, cause the Pens defense was stopping the Flyers offensive attack as well as a seine net dams up a river.
Let's go Red Wings!
The world champs often don't make it out of the first round in the last several years, the Wings just broke out of that mold.
LMAO Flyers
Blowing a 3-0 lead at home![]()
![]()
No ! Way to go Flyers!
Damn it!![]()
My brother is a Rangers fan., he's pissed.
Go Blackhawks!![]()
Is that what the Rangers look like without Tortorella?
Or is that the Caps have figured them out and are putting the puck in the net at will now?
Congrats to the Blackhawks on their first playoff series victory in 13 years. The Sharks are done. The number 1 seed in hockey is cursed.
Sharks being Sharks in the playoffs; toothless. No surprise here
Great job, Chicago![]()
With the Sharks gone, it looks like the Red Wings will get back to the Stanley Cup Finals. I can't stand the Red Wings. It would be nice to see the Ducks dethrone them.
Would you say the Blackhawks are the underdogs this year?
Way to go Hawks!![]()
2.Detroit vs 8.Anaheim - No predictions
3.Vancouver vs 4.Chicago: Vancouver is going to win. One word: Luongo. Hawks are a good team but theyre young. Luongo is going to get in their heads, IMO.
East predictions after tonight's Game 7.
SO, to review my 1st round predicitions :
Bruins - Habs: yes, we do have the mental edge, but Markov is listed a day-to-day; we can beat the Bruins, but I like our chances better with Markov. Nevertheless, should fun to watch, great rivalry, and we almost beat them last week in Boston; it's a good thing Price finally woke the up.
If Markov can play at least 2 games in this series: Habs in 7
If not, Bruins in 6 ........... Okay I was 2 games short
Pens-Flyers: another great rivalry; 7 games, but very hard to say who is gonna win; Philapdelphia was built for the playoffs, and they have been in playoff mode lately; but Pittsburgh has picked up Guerin and Kunitz, adding scoring, grit and championship experience.
Aaargh.......Flyers in 7. FAIL
Devils - Canes: again, hard to tell; Devils have been great overall, Parise has had a career year and the addition of Shanahan during the season was a great move; however, Carolina has been hotter as of late, trading for Eric Cole before the deadline; Cole won the cup in 2006 with the Canes, and his team has been en fuego since he came back; plus, Brind'amour is a clutch performer; it's hard to go against teams that have momentum,
BUT Brodeur will rise to the occasion; Devils in 7 C'mon, Marty, make me look smart
Vouashigneutone - Rangers: Washington is very talented offensively, but their blue line and their goaltending suck major donkey ass.
Drury may miss game 1, so Caps have to take advantadge.
Rangers in 6-7 Still valid
Wings vs Columbus: Wings in 5....... no wait !
Osgood has been sucking as of late, and Mason can be a show stopper
Wings in 7.
(It's a good thing Wings are not playing the Predators)
Ok, I picked the Wings, but not in 7
Sharks vs Anaheim: San Jose is the better team, but Thornton and Marleau are not playoff legends; Anaheim is big team and they will play tough.
Sharks in 7 Fail
Vancouver vs St-Louis: hard to figure; Vancouver seems to be a well balanced team, but Luongo has been so-so this season.
The Blues have been the hottest team in the NHL over the last 2 months; really impressive.
Because Canucks have home ice to bail them out, Vancouver in 7. Again, I picked the right team, but in 7
Flames vs Hawks: I somewhat agree with you Darkreign, but Hawks are a young team, and experience will be a factor.
It's true that Keenan won't think twice before pulling Kipper out, and that the Falmes are not 100% healthy.
However, I remember a depleted Montreal team easily beating the Hawks about a month ago.
Flames in 6-7 Fail![]()
By the way,
2 game 7's tonight![]()
Refs bailing Washington out in game 7
BS !
And OMFG, Canes score 2 late goals to beat NJ in game 7![]()
