Too bad it was the Air Force that came up with and signed off on this whole idea and that the White House didn't. But that's okay, don't let reality get in your way.

Wrong. That was yesterday's news account from the BBC. This mornings radio news has it that it did come from the White House, directing this photo op.

Yeah, the White House's Military Command i.e. the Defense Dept/Air Force. Obama didn't even know about it and was "furious" when told.

So I don't really care what some back-asswards, Rush carrying, AM station told you. I'll stick with the AP.

    http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...HVqXQD97RFTKG0

And before you come back with some lame ass attack about Obama not knowing it was happening: I think he's got bigger things to deal with right now than keeping his personal eyes trained on what the military is doing with the spare Air Force 1 jet.

    From this morning's ABC News:

The head of White House Military Office apologized for the incident late Monday.

"Last week, I approved a mission over New York. I take responsibility for that decision," said Louis Caldera.
Calerdra is the Director of the White House Military Office. You can be sure that president Obama at least knew about this. I would say he likely asked for it.

Of course president Obama's going to lie about such a stupid stunt. You really believe the mainstream media that has supported him all along?

AP is part of the Alphabet News Networks. They are protective of their pet president.

It would be interesting to know who those people's papers endorsed for presidential elections...

I'll bet it was overwhelming support for our current president.

Minus a few wing-nut idiot papers like the San Diego Trib, who didn't? The Salt Lake Tribune, i.e. the largest newspaper in the reddest state in America, endorsed Obama. I'm sorry dude, but Palin is a ing moron and McCain was absolutely lost. So say what you want about endorsements, but let's not pretend that the republican ticket wasn't a complete ing joke, thereby forcing any paper with any common sense whatsoever, to pull the lever for Obama. Whether they liked him much or not, at least he wasn't McCain/Palin.

Being that I live 40 minutes away from NY, and that I have friends working there, I can attest there was scenes of panic, and this whole thing was handled really, really bad.
They SHOULD have informed the public earlier. I don't care if it was 30 minutes before they did it, so they could reach a compromise between security and safety.
But this was terrible. My wife was telling me a co-worker of her had her son in the city, and was calling and telling her about this whole surreal scene in the city streets.

Poor judgement doesn't even begin to describe this thing...

It seems the whole Obama presidency so far has slipped through the cracks of common sense, if poor judgement is used in such mundane things, it would be logical to assume the same kind of poor judgment may be used in more vital matters.

    No kidding.

I don't like senator McCain's political views much, but at least he has common sense.
