For the record, Parker has already gotten injured before playing for France
Did anyone see it?
Post game. He was asked about playing international ball this summer and if he's learned from Manu's injury. He said he's not worried because Manu was over 30 and he's still young.
WTF?!
Last time I checked, being young doesn't make you invulnerable to being injured.
For the record, Parker has already gotten injured before playing for France
Way to make the night worse Buddy
JK.
Yeah its beyond re ed and just plain stupid for him to do it.
International ball is always going to be ever-present in sports. Get over it.
We all need to get Eva behind closed doors and get her to tell Tony No Mas SEX if he plays French Fairy ball this summer!!!
Good for him. I hope he represents his country honorably, and has a good summer.
For all the ing and complaining, I'm pretty sure a bunch of people here will be watching him perform with France when the games happen.
Gotta get a basketball fix somehow, and this time it's going to be longer than usual...
....because France is a good for nothing Country....... etc, etc....SFU or you're gonna get owned again.
Yeah... no.![]()
sfu?
Fsu?
let the guy play for his Country....
Fsu?=> Fat Spur's fans Union????????????????
spurs better fkn buy insurance for all players on international duties or have that disclosed on all new contracts, that it better not be with AIG also lol.......
International play should be for amatuers only, otherwise it's another kind of pro league. Honor your country all you want, but do it when you're an amatuer.
Pro teams are within their rights to restrict their players from playing in other pro leagues.
at least manu was defending a gold medal.
france sucks, haha.
I wonder what FIBA has to say about that.Pro teams are within their rights to restrict their players from playing in other pro leagues.
The national teams have to. Otherwise they can't play.
No they're not. At least not on the NBA case.
Fair enough, but they should be IMO.
He's not going to get hurt, calm down. I'm pretty sure there will be rules set forth by Pop for his other team.
I don't know how it is in the USA, but in Europe and everywhere else, playing for your country is the most you can do in your career.
France with Tony won in 2000 the "FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship" and TP was the MVP of the tournament.
Since then, he is the leader of this new generation (post 2000 Olympic Games).
France record since 1999
1999 European Championship : 4th place.
2000 Olympic Games : 2nd (Silver medal).
2001 European Championship : 6th place.
2003 European Championship : 4th place.
2005 European Championship : 3rd place.
2006 FIBA World Championship : 5th place.
The problem is, since 2006 a lot of french players are not playing anymore for their national team. But i think it's gonna change now.
France, today, has a lot of good players and could do something special in the years to come if everyone is on the same track.
It's a great honor to represent your country in sports. It's not difficult to understand.
When Tony was a teenager, his country gave him a great formation. That's one of the reasons he is the player he is today. Without this formation he wouldn't be able to play in the NBA today. Tony knows that, and beyond that, he is a true compe or and love playing for his NT.
The NBA season is off during 6 months. You really believe that a NBA player doesn't play basketball during those 6 months.
A player can get injured playing with friends, or practicing... or simply walking in the street (one false move : sprained ankle.)
You can't expect the worse everytime, otherwise you're not doing anything anymore.
So, Tony will play some games for France, what a big deal.
He played for France last year and see the result : he had a great season with the Spurs.
Last year, with a lot of french players MIA, Tony had to carry the French team and he did a fantastic job... Maybe what he did with the French team was a good training for what he did with the Spurs this year.
The more you play international games, the better player you will become.
TP is improving his game every year, thanks to the Spurs and thanks to the French team.
See the positives, not always the negatives...
Oh, and![]()
He's going to play, whether we like it or not. So we might as well learn to accept it. It's an honor for any player to play for their national team.
Anyways, what are we worried about? Tony has more than 4 months of vacation coming up! He SHOULD be playing ball! Who the needs 4 months of vacation?
Anyone knows about the schedule? The rest in between games and before the NBA season? Will Mahinmi also play?
Best wishes to TP. After what he did for the Spurs in the play-offs, he deserves a pass to play for his country.
but but but... Kill Bill Pana says France sucks so why should he play?
just kidding, I hope he plays well - anyway loosing in the first round gives him time to rest
