Yea I saw that too, it's like they didn't really seem to care that it was an elimination. Only players I saw with urgency were TD and Parker, the rest were just standing around like first time players.
why the spurs had no sense of urgency?
why they were playing as if this were a pre-season game?
do they not realize it's an elimination game?
and to get embarrassed on your own court?
utah went out with a bang. they were playing chippy cause
they were desperate. they knew it was an elimination game.
the spurs just let every loose ball, rebounds, and turnovers go to dallas.
what was up with that? did they just give up from the very first
quarter? or maybe earlier than that?
and 2, where did their defense go? this isnt the same spurs.
3, why didnt they play mason and gooden?
the season was pretty much over when manu was out, but
i still saw us going pass the first round. c'mon san antonio.
what's up with the lack of effort?![]()

i guess thats what happens when they dont have the SAVIOR manu to spark up the team and be that "x-factor"
They played with a lot of effort and fight. They even cut the lead to five a couple times. The Spurs just lost to a better team. It's not about desire. Sometimes you are just outmatched.
WRONG. game 5 = no effort
You sound like someone who didn't watch the game.
I think Pop's strategies should also take some responsibilities for the lose, we all found Hill an ideal benchoff player on spurs team in game 5 but that's already too late. The spurs would have dragged this series to game 6 at least if Pop had given him some minutes in the previous 4 games.
The Spurs were clearly 2 against 5 the entire series. As hard as it may be to believe, they were indeed clearly overmatched.
Mavs statistically had 8 of the 10 best players in the series.
This 1st-round exit is a wake-up call to the Spurs' FO. Fans have been crying out loud that we need to be younger and more athletic. In the past, getting has-beens bailed us out. This time around, we got crushed by a team that is not even the 3rd best team in the Western Conference.
With that pathetic starting line-up, we would of lost to the lowly Phoenix Suns.![]()
Reality is a sometimes ain't it? Did you really expect the Spurs to beat Dallas without Manu in the lineup?
Answer to your second question: It's been suspect all season long. It was fully exposed in this series though. That's what happens when you plug in guys named Bonner, Finley, Mason and Gooden and expect to have the same defensive presence as in years past.
Answer to your third question: See the answer to question two.
Also, just for the record I didn't see a lack of effort. I saw a better Dallas team beat us like they should have. Nothing more, nothing less.
+1
When roleplayers for one team are statistically better than some starters for the other, whats the only logical conclusion?
They should have leveled JJ Barrea a few times ala Robert Horry... to go down swinging!!!!
Spurs don't win this series even if Manu plays. You have the worst bench of all time if Jason Terry has a terrible series and the Mavs bench still vastly outplays yours.
U sure?
Manu>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Terry
LOL not so much.
i dont know what game you guys were watching, but i saw tired/lazy legs going for lose balls and rebounds.
They were just outmatched. The Spurs did all they could. Dallas just had the better role players and starters in this series with the exception of TP, TD and Bowen.
Can you repeat the question?
Then there is absolutely, positively no reason and no excuse if you don't win it all this year. Trouble is everyone knows you won't. But, on the flip side I have no earthly idea why only 3 Spurs ever showed up in this series. This year we just never developed any 'real' chemistry. Seemed like everyone was on a different page. But, as Mr. Gump says, "Sheeeeit Happens"!
