Once again, Bowen proves he's the least likely to get the Nutshrivels in big games. all that bull about his offensive limitations. All half of these guys do is camp at the 3-point line anyway. Give me the guy who makes the shots. You can view the fact that he's still (by far) our best perimeter defender as a bonus if you like.

In Bowen's eight-year Spurs playoff career, he's now shooting 43.8% on three-pointers. That's a ridiculously good mark. Bowen gets credit from Spurs fans for being a great defender but I think many don't realize he's also been the most consistently clutch shooter on the team in this era.
. Exactly. And people overlook the fact that not only has he been a good 3-pt shooter..but he's made clutch 3's in the playoffs for this team in their le years. Whether it was against Denver, New Orleans, or Phoenix...he made some critical 3-ptrs that helped bring les to San Antonio.
In NBA playoff history, here are the best three-point shooters with at least 125 three-pointers made:
1. Derek Fisher - .424
2. Ray Allen - .424
3. Bruce Bowen - .422
4. Steve Nash - .413
You take just Bowen's time with the Spurs and he'd be far and away the top of the list.
When he does call it a day, they Spurs need to retire the 12.
Since the 2002-2003 playoffs, here are the NBA playoff leaders for three-point percentage for players with at least 80 made threes:
1) Bruce Bowen - .438
2) Derek Fisher - .427
3) Steve Nash - .418
Bowen is also fourth in made threes over the time frame.
The bigger the shot, the better the chance Bruce will knock it down. We didn't hear any complaining out of him when Pop decided to play Udoka and Finley over him. He is a true professional.

Spurs died by the 3 plain and simple. horrible 3pt shooting. Had they shot remotely close to their season average, Dallas would be fishing.
oh well. I thought this team and Pop had learned from the Phoenix suns
just too small a sample size to draw much of a comparison. 1 or 2 missed shots would swing the %'s too much with such a small sample size.
Nobody bothers to guard Bowen and his man is helping off on someone else and limiting that guys offense. Bowen has the most open looks on the team.

The Mavs were giving all of the Spurs shooters the same looks.
And don't try to pretend you are an unbiased Bowen observer. You are in fact an admitted Bowen hater. You have stated you hate Bowen on multiple occasions. You said he sucked every year for the last six years.
At least be factually honest when you come crapping in a thread.
Considering how little playing time they had recently received, Bowen and Hill did quite well.

Bowen sucks on offense and is often left unguarded. If a team made any type of effort to stop Bowen on the offensive end he would not hit any shots. teams are content to give up an occasional Bowen 3 point shot and have his man help on defense on other guys. He doesn't create any offense of his own without getting the open 3 point shot, can't finish at the rim and has bad handles.
