Agreed. I don't think they've won a single NFL game in their history.
unless you can find something more than just rumors from wikipedia, I'm gonna go by what the redskins website says and say "yes, they changed it just because they moved across town to Fenway."
Agreed. I don't think they've won a single NFL game in their history.
No it isn't. It's not even the worst logo in the state of Florida. The Jags and the Panthers joined the league the same ing year and have almost identical team colors and logos. Lamest embarrassment ever. And the pre-pewter Bucs logo of Cindy Crawford with a mustache and a knife in her teeth was especially lame.
The website doesn't really give much info bout it so, I'm gonna go with Wikipedia!![]()
The fine lady I work with won't put out, so I'm gonna go for the ho that hangs out at the pool hall![]()
I asked some Redskins fans at extremeskins.com & this is what 1 fan said:
"The Washington Redskins began life as the Boston Braves. The team played in Braves Field, home of the baseball Boston Braves (later the Milwaukee Braves, today the Atlanta Braves). In 1933, one year after joining the National Football League, the football Braves moved over to Fenway Park. A name change seemed in order. Head Coach William "Lone Star" Dietz was allegedly of part-Sioux descent. Hence, Redskins, in his "honor" (let's consider it a happy accident that Brother Dietz wasn't a quadroon). The team moved to Washington in 1937."
But also said:
"The ignominious roots in the North's most racist city should tell us something. And I just love that notion that the name was meant to honor Dietz. I'm sure it was, but this only reinforces the fact that times and mores change."
So, who knows or who cares!
What the are you talking about? How can the Phins logo be worse then Cleveland's?
They are a color for 's sake
lol, I wasn't even born when the Niners had this logo:
Nothing says "winning tradition" than having a drunken, violent, mercury-poisoning crazed, failed prospector as your symbol.
I, for one, am glad they "sold out to the man" in this instance. Hard to imagine Joe Montana and Jerry Rice ever getting to a Superbowl with that on the sides of their helmets.
I dislike the Seahawk's color scheme.
Contrary to some local sports talk show hosts, I LOVED the uniforms used in Any Given Sunday.
And that's why, because of the logo.
Do'nt you go disrespecting the Blue & Green now.
I like the Raiders logo. The shield is a great idea and I like the black and silver.
They are named after one of the best coaches in the history of the game, which is better than something that isn't even associated with a city or an overused animal
Cleveland has the best logo in the league
some of my s look like the browns logo
bottom line it sucks
it's too advanced for simple minded folks
Simple minded folks need glitz and glamor. They need flashy colors and loud logos to spark their curiosity.
i know since the cowboys logo is soooo flashy![]()
Fittingly, it's a gang symbol.
The Browns' color scheme was really ahead of its time.
Its time turned out to be the 1970's.
the Browns have had the same color and logo since the 40's. They didn't need to switch to sell more jerseys or make a statement for attention, they stuck with their values. That is ahead of it's time
They used to have white helmets, but switched to orange.
SELLOUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gang symbol for who? I never even heard of that.
I thought that was a different kind of "5 Star" and one that's supposed to represent "Red"....even though it's just a bunch of ignorant nothingness.
