    How's the Rockets salary cap?

If the Rockets re-sign Artest, will there be enough left for them to compe ively re-sign Von Wafer?

Not sure about his D, but his 3 point shot certainly looked up to scratch.

He's played some solid defense but I think Hairston is better at this point. He's an energy guy for sure and has the 3 point shot down.

Not in the NBA. I don't think he made a single 3 on the Spurs, but he didn't really shoot any.

I meant Wafer has the 3 point shot down which would give him the edge over Hairston (unless he improves). I meant I like Hairston better defensively at this point.

My bad. And I prefer Hairston because of how he played the toughest wings in the NBA when he was here. Hope Chip works wonders for him.

This guy is perfect for an "instant offense" player off the bench. He can shoot and score at the rim. He would be a nice player to have on the floor to prevent some of our patented offensive slumps.

It's great to see how Wafer has made a name for himself in this league. He bounced around teams, but seems to have settled nicely into Adelman's offense.

Any guesses on what he ends up signing for? Something along of what Mason got? He looks to have a pretty complete offensive package and he looks to have the physical tools to be a decent defender. Much more than we can say about most of our recent SF's.

For some reason, he reminds me of a bit of Azubuke, which would have been a really nice addition to the Spurs as well.

He did a good job in Rockets during the absence of Tracy. Although he is not that good, he can attack the rim which is a talent Spurs needed most on offense.

Wafer was earning $797,581. Taking a guess, I say that the Rockets will try to sign him for about 2-3 million. If Wafer wants Mason type money, which is over $3.5 million, I think that the Rockets might let him go.

He is a HUGE ball hog. An incredible black hole. He also is a dumb ass. Popovich would have him dog house after the first practice i think.

He's an immature player and not a very coachable talent from what I saw
He's certainly not a team player also
I hope to not see him on our roster

Amen to all of that. You have to respect your coach, if you dont then theirs gonna be problems. Wafer got sent to the locker room in game 2 of the Semi-finals. You cant have behavior like that in the playoffs. Also , if Ron Artest can learn to behave and work within the system, then Wafer has no business being out of line.

Looks like Von Wafer won't be a Rocket and should be pretty cheap. He certainly has significant deficiencies but if McClinton doesn't look like he'll pan out Von Wafer may be worth a look as that instant offense off the bench guy. Maybe Pop could get him a little more discipline and defense focused.

If you all thought Mason's ball handling was poor, you would go crazy watching this guy dribble.
