3 championships since then happened.
back in 2003 (doesn't seem very long ago) when we were on the verge of beating the 3 time nba champ Lakers and Bill Walton was on air saying how young our team was and that "we could be seeing something very special here" and he proceeded by saying all of the Spurs ages. Tim Duncan, Stephen Jackson, Speedy Claxton, Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker....and the chance to add a Jason Kidd or Jermaine O'neil. I was just thinking about that the other day. Damn, what the happened???!!!
3 championships since then happened.
See, what had happened was.......and well, then, RC Traded Scola.
seriously. Bill was right on.
NBA players get old. That's what happened. We're lucky to get those championships while we could![]()
Yup and in 04 06 it took miracles to beat us, so.... at least we got some out of that team.![]()
Yeah, no kidding. After the 2001 debacle, the Spurs era was supposedly over. If you would have told me the Spurs would win three more championship by the summer of 2009, I would have rolled my eyes and laughed.
, our 2nd le broke up the Laker's run which seemed like it had no end forthcoming.

And yet unfortunately the Twin Towers haven't even been recognized as one of the greatest sports duos EVER. I'm not saying they're as good a duo as kobe and shaq but they only won 1 less than them in the same time period. Best Damn Top 50 Sports Duos list is a ing joke.
David was going over the hill while Tim was rounding into form towards the end of Robinson's career, so I think that's why they aren't really viewed as highly with regard to dynamic duos. They were still a force to be reckoned with at the rim though throughout their tenure together.
I still don't think the Spurs are done winning championships yet, at least in the Tim Duncan era.
So much ridining on a pair of creaky knees...
uh.......3 championships???
OH GOD get over it, many teams have no les and we have 4 here in SA, thats a LOAD to deal with!!!! We are spoiled here, sure it could have been 5 or maybe 6, but damn man 4 is great and they could get one more! They can do one more.
U fukkers are so damn spoiled in here, well us as fans are so spoiled as fans in here it's utterly rediculous.
3 Championships happened, and I think one more will happen before TD retires.
I also remember when we couldn't get past Utah to save our lives in the late '90s and I used to put my hopes in Del Negro heating up to help out D-Rob.
Ah, scrub-ass Vinny.. or as I like to call him, 90s Bonner.![]()
I think the Spurs still have more to give, our run isn't over yet.
The OP has so much fail in it.
Not totally, but we sure could've used Captn Jack in 2004 & 2006. I say we win another championship or two with him.
Captn Jack >>>>>> Hedo
Yeah best damn is FOX so ing biased aganist SA!
Add Loyld Daniels, Antonie Carr, Greg Sutton, and Tom Copa![]()
I didn't know T-Mac posted here.
3 championships? Pssh. The Spurs were so good they really should have won 8 les over the last 7 years -- anything less than that has to be a letdown to any REAL Spurs fan.
Who cares, really, that only 3 franchises in league history have won more les than the Spurs have won in the last 7 years? They've completely wasted their opportunity by ONLY winning 3 les since the 2003 playoffs began.
Especially since 4 of those 3 les are due to the brilliance of the head coach, and for no other reason.
