A carrot cake. No lie.
My birthday is coming up this Wednesday and it got me thinking about all the presents I've received on my birthday. I would say that my best birthday present that I got was probably back in 2004. I got a round trip plane ticket to Minneapolis and stayed in Minnesota for a month with some family friends.
A carrot cake. No lie.
I am not much into people giving me things for my brthday as an adult so I would say my Velvet doll with the "growing" hair- wish I still had it
Bush's last day in office.
my 30th bday was today and this is what i bought myself. no lie

Happy Birthday, baby!!!![]()
When I had turned 14, my dad got me a PS2 and a couple games. At the time, it was completely unexpected. I had always been a poor Mexican kid living with my mom here in Texas, struggling each day, not knowing the pleasures of the future of gaming (at the time). Everyone I went to school with had every system, tons of games, huge TVs, etc, and here I was with my ty PS1 from almost 10 years prior.
He set it up all badass. I had just gotten home from the long flight to Oakland and I was unpacking when he came in and hinted at what he had got me and told me to go look around.
I found it under the bed, and I nearly my pants when I saw it.
The first time I had sex on one of my birthdays I was 16, and by then I had pounded the girl I was with for almost a year. So, it wasn't that amazing. Few things will top the childish feeling of getting the best (at the time) game system ever.
best birthday present was probably a control car.....when i was 6-7 yrs old...had it for like a week untill i decided to test it in a bath tub see if it can run in water lol... didnt work after that...
I don't recall too many presents actually, but one of my favorites was for my 30th birthday. We lived in Augusta, Georgia and my husband took me out for dinner and drinks. He said he had heard of a little place that had good live music and we should go there. So we got to this place it was very nice but larger than I expected and found our reserved table. The show started and the act was Elton John!! Just him and his piano. A great surprise and a really fun night.![]()
Mine was yesterday. Didn't get anything, but had a great time bowling with Little ASF and some friends of ours.
I used to get laid on my birthday, but Mrs. ASF closed that store years ago.

Probably some Raider tickets for later that year vs SD.
Interesting to read that sex is a popular birthday gift.
My birthday is too close to Christmas so usually everyone is either broke from Christmas, combines Christmas/Birthday gifts, out of town, or simply forgets in all of the holiday chaos.
I've never been that into my birthday except for the 16, 18 & 21st ones, anyway ... now I'm just glad I have them.

The gift that comes to mind is my own phone ( home phone, not cell), which my parents gave me when I was thirteen.
I loved that thing.
Birthdays kinda stopped being exciting for me when I turned 15. Around that time, it seemed like no one gave a anymore. And I don't mean just presents. It seems like only my mom and my dad call me on my birthday. Such is life I guess.
When I was 9 a purple 10 speed bike with a white basket on the front with purple flowers ...
Then when I turned 19, sex became the best bday present I ever got!

When you're married, you take it when you can get it...

Why a carrot cake?
My family forgot it was my birthday so my mom felt bad and told my sister to pickup a cake when she came back. carrot cake was teh cheapest.
i feel you - my bday is christmas eve. That close to christmas your birthday can be simply forgotten altogether.
At expense of one Jacob1983's previous posts I will have to say:
But seriously...I haven't gotten anything too good for my birthday. Mine is always Memorial Day weekend so everyone already has plans.
However, for my 21st Birthday I was on a mission trip and doing that was a pretty good thing. It made me pretty happy.
For my 30th (2 years ago), my folks gave me a fishing trip in Panama.
