Haven't you been reading the forums on him? He is the Spurs savior, the reincarnation of Gervin, Robinson, and Duncan combined
seen his videos in france and he's really good
never seen him play in austin or in the summer league or preseason
i know he's only 22
but do you think we should continue with the project?
btw was he projected to go to the spurs in 2005 around our pick or was he like a george hill who we didn't know who this kid was?

Just bring him in, even if he is raw.
We have nothing to lose at this point.
Look at the Lakers and Celtics, they brought young players and it's paying off
I think he was even further off the radar than Hill.
And the Spurs don't really know what they have in Mahinmi at this point. Got to at least give it a shot on an NBA court.
Pops >>>> mahinmi >> jesus
That would be something, wouldn't it be?
I was talking with my friend the other on how good Olajuwon was in his day, his game was sick!
Life sure would be easier if this kid pans out.
Don't hold your breath on Ian to save us... unless you figured out how to live without air or wanna check out already.
True... unfortunately, the movie "Unbreakable" keeps coming to mind when Ian name comes up.
Hey !!!!!
Jesus was a beast on the low block
Forget the seemingly endless injuries. He has yet to break out of D league. If he could play at NBA level now, he would've been playing at some point between injuries.
thats exactly how i see it
rather him be the next kevin garnett
he could be solid. i don't know if all these olajuwon and d-rob comparisons are sarcastic or not but he wouldn't be no superstar or anything. i'd probly give him the potential to be a brandon bass or at best a paul millsap
Ian was so far off the radar on draft day, they (I think it was ESPN) had to scramble just to get his name into the ticker scrolling across the screen..![]()
Nobody knows what Ian can bring. He is still very much a question-mark.
I wouldn't be surprised if a 2007 or 2008 Oberto would still be a better big man than anyone not named Tim Duncan or Kurt Thomas on the current Spurs Squad.
allstar = Mahimni < DRob < Tim
What is it with Spurs forums and the overexaggeration displayed by members with more than 1K posts mocking any sense of optimism over a young player?I thought I left SR behind...
Mahimi is a rookie, i donŽt expect him to be a great player. If he can give us 15 mins per game, without having to complain about him in those mins, iŽll take it.
I just believe that this guy will left the spurs with 3 millions in his pocket and little to none playing time at all.
Mahinmi hasn't done jack for 2 years and has gotten paid an nba salary for it. Potential in the D-League doesnt always translate to the NBA. I say he could be trade bait for some teams late draft pick, let someone else pick up his tab!!!
Jesus has no D though
