Well the Mavs generally play better against the Spurs, and Howard is one of them. I think Howard played really well in 06 against pretty much everyone, he torched Marion against the Suns as well. And he was probably the best player in 07 against GS. He played really well down the stretch this season. I think it's a mistake to consider the way Howard has played the last year or so as his usual standard. He used to be a monster to cover paired with Dirk. He started well last game as well against Denver, clearely the ankle is a big problem for him right now.

I agree he was a monster in 2006 - but hes only done it consistantly for 1 season. I guess it just pisses me off when he struggles against 29 teams in the league, then continues to go for 25+ against the Spurs, bum ankle and all.
Carmelo carried about 3 different times on that breakaway.

Well again, the Mavs as a team play with a confidence against the Spurs that I wished they had against everyone. But in a way, the Mavs were built to beat the Spurs, so that is why.
Terry has a bit of Manu about him these playoffs, hes not injured like Manu last season, but it looks as though his body is struggling to cope with 82+ games. Especially given the extra load hes had to carry all season with Howard missing games.
Hes looked flat all post season.
