I agree his bro will most likely end up being the better player if he gets to contender... he has more of a NBA type of body for a big...

Oh, so if a player flops, he's soft, right?

    vs
Only if the player makes 360 flops.

Marc has the body, but no where near the agility or skill level of Pau. He wont ever be as good as Pau.

Ehhh... Gasol wasn't anything special until he headed to the Lakers. I mean, give Marc a couple of years and we'll see where he stands.
Everybody looks more agile and skilled when surrounded by lots of good talent. Sasha and Walton come to mind...

Pau put up something like 17-7-2 as a 21 year old Foreign Rookie.Thats pretty impressive. Then lead his team to 50 Wins as a lone All-Star. Unless he improves his skill level and athleticism exponentially, I think i can safely say Marc Gasol does not have the game to do any of that.

Actually Pau posted closer to 18-9-2 his first year.
But Marc's 12-7-1 is pretty respectable playing 6 less minutes than his bro.

And in Pau's rookie season, Memphis posted a 23-59 record. The 50 win season roster came later on and included Battier, Posey, Earl Watson, Mike Miller, Bonzi Wells and Jason Williams.

Oh come on... the guy alone couldn't make the playoffs at all. Once he had a respectable supporting cast, he was a perennial first round exit. It got to the point where the Memphis management decided he wasn't the franchise player they thought he would be, moved him and his surrounding pieces and started rebuilding again.

yeah they started rebuilding with Kwame Brown

wake up. Gasol was an allstar caliber player. THe memphis owner giftwrapped him to the Lakers partly to save some money cause he is a cheapass

Well, no. But they dismantled that team (including shipping out Mike Miller) and started rebuilding around Gay and Mayo. Now they also added Marc.

I'm not going to deny he's very talented. He is. But he wasn't and still is anything special. He's not a leader. He's not a franchise player. He's a great number 2, behind an actual star player that leads and takes the bulk of the responsibilities. You can draw a parallel between his career and KG's.
And I can totally see Dirk in a season or two taking the same route.

dude if going by your definition of "nothing special", then Manu, Parker are nothing special.

Let's not act like those playoff Grizzly teams were entirely led by Pau and had no talent. There were 6 guys on that team averaging double figures.

Well, Manu was a franchise player for many years and earned multiple les. He just wasn't in that position when he came over to the NBA. And Tony did make a leap in '07 as far as playoff performances is concerned, earning a well deserved Finals MVP. That said, he also has not been put on a position to be the absolute leader of a team and a franchise. He might actually get his chance for that, and we'll see then. In the Pau and KG case, they've been trusted with a franchise and failed miserably at that. They only shine now as options number 2 or 3 in a team with other superstars.

I think that it's a narrow win for Gasol, simply because I think he would either start sweating profusely or piss himself very badly. Either way, moisture is cotton candy's Achilles' heel.
