If Kidd is your PG, you need at least 3 scorers on the floor at the same time....thats why when J-ho is always hurt, the Mavs must rely on Dirk or JET and that is just too much to handle in the playoffs, just ask the Spurs

Do you even know who Antoine Wright is?

    Yes, I'm aware...

He's the guy you said shouldn't be in the NBA (dedicated a thread to the subject), then you proposed that he be the starting SG in this thread had a certain trade happened...

    Funny.

Keep clinging to my quotes from when the Mavs were 2-7...it clearly proves that I'm not really a Mavs fan and don't know anything about the team...

hey you're the one that said it, not me. if you can explain why you got "burned out" on the Mavs as they conveniently went 2-7, and then suddenly got interested as they conveniently started winning again, I'd love to know.

This offseason will be the biggest for the current Mavs front office...If they fail to make quality changes with the $32 million in expiring contracts then this team is doomed and Dirk should not be wasted here in Dallas

    Damp: $10,112,500
    J-Ho: $10,890,000
    Stack: $7,250,000 (with $2mil buyout)
    Wright: $2,115,000
    Williams: $2,416,066

it all depends what players are around him...if its the same team then Kidd wont want to be back and there is no point to having him run with this spare cast of players

The level of talent on our team is so low right now, I'm thinkin this is my chance to try out for the Mavs summer league team

I only have issue w/ following:

    1. Quis for trash
    2. MLE on Diop
    3. Throwing in the picks in Kidd trade, and 2010 unprotected by lottery

but Chris ing Kaman? Baron ing Davis? Big ing baby? that.

Yup I'm sure the Spurs would have ten rings by now if not for Greg Popovich.

I don't think it's fair to blame Cuban for Nash not resigning. A point guard in his thirties with back issues who had been a borderline all-star his entire career isn't someone you give a 5 year maximum contract to. I'm sure if Cuban knew he'd win two MVP's on Phoenix he would have handled it differently. There was however no way in to know Nash would have that much success.

And just out of curiosity Ghazi, does telling mono he isn't a real Mavs fan make you forget about the fact the front office really does suck? Blindly cheering for a team and having the re ed optimistic, "Always believe" at ude doesn't make the team any better.

The bandwagoners in Phoenix who didn't watch basketball till 2004 that claimed run and suck, all offense no defense basketball can win a championship didn't change the fact run and suck basketball will never win a championship.

Watched just about every game for years...only to be treated with:

    Finals meltdown.
67 wins and 8th seed knocks them out.
    1st rd out.
Then they come out 2-7 with much of the same roster.

I would like to officially apologize to you, the ultimate Mavs fan, for being disgruntled with the team. I know real fans don't whine, , or take a break from watching...

Pop does a lot of things well, but he's not the best at handling young players ... and once someone gets into the Pophouse they never seem to get get out. You take the good with the bad; this year seemed to be bad even before the first round abuse at the hands of the Mavs.

I don't blame Cuban much for Nash either, and honestly I think we got better without him. Nash wasn't going to lead a Mavs team to the Finals, past the Spurs, IMO. And Dirk made a quality jump when Nash left. And as much as people like to taunt him, Dampier is one of the best post defenders and rebounders in the league. With the exception of Shaq, nobody can back him down.

But Kidd for Harris was suicide. How much we need Harris now against Denver??? Seeing as only Dirk can get to the line, I say a lot.

And Quis is a complete blunder. He was never gonna be an all-star but he was good at a lot of little things, he could defend, rebound, pass well, and now even his 3pt shooting has gotten better. Quis would have been huge for them against GS, and now.

I think he's good at handling young players but doesn't like doing it at all, so I get the frustration there.

And that's exactly what I was going to say, you take the good with the bad when it comes to coaching. Most of the time Popovich's good greatly outweighs his bad. Maybe it didn't this season, but IMO when you take injuries into account the Spurs didn't have much of a chance this year regardless of the coach.

One thing I do know is the notion some Spurs fans have on this site that getting rid of Popovich will solve every problem the Spurs have and improve their team is re ed.

Nobody would be ing about the FO if the Mavs didn't get the shaft in '06. The ing shaft I tell you!

Any team can play the "what if" game to scrutinize their FO.
