I know Yao was in a lil foul trouble last night but the Lakers started to front Yao at the end & he wasnt able to give them nothing..Portland did this after their first game & it worked extremely well. Ron Artest aint gonna average 30 pts a game so if the Lakers keep doing this they will win. In a way, im kind of happy if Fishstick gets suspended. He's too slow to guard brooks. When LA had both Farmar & Brown in they opened the game up. That speed takes Houston out of their gameplan & greatly tires Yao. All in all if LA decides to do these 2 things, I think they got this series.

you have to avoid foul trouble. if the rockets shoot ft you cant run since they get to set up defensively especially yao. if its a miss yao gets destroyed on the run

The Lakers went on all of their runs when Yao was on the floor.

The Rockets are a better team without him, unless they can figure out a way to get him the ball when the Lakers are fronting.

Look for a load of touch fouls in game 3..The league is not gonna allow another game to be played as physical as game 2.

not really. more touch fouls means more possesions for Yao, means more free throws for him, means easy points, means not better for lakers.

No because Yao won't even touch the ball if he's fronted.

The bottom line is HOU's offense goes to complete if they are fronted. It's why the Rockets were so ineffective whenever he was on the floor. Pau just fronted him on every play and the Rocket guards had to go into scramble mode and chuck up jumpers. They were lucky they made a lot of shots from outside, that won't keep up. Ron Ron will not keep hitting those 3's and step back buzzer beaters for much longer.

There is a reason why the Rockets went on their runs with Yao on the bench. It's beacuse when you front Yao the Rockets have no answer.

Well, lets hope Adelman is addressing a counter strategy for the front. If not, they don't deserve to win.

Fronting is real easy to overcome if you have a good passer (they do in Scola). The trick here is if Yao knows how to seal the interior. If he does, fronting is not going to work for long.

The bottom line is the Rocket guards are poor at getting in post entry passes, even when Yao has sealed his man off. I saw several plays where Brooks just didn't feed Yao the ball.

The Blazers learned their lesson after Game 1 and were successful at shutting down Yao. Their problem was they couldn't play on the road.

    That's fine.

Adversity builds character. The Lakers have cruised this entire season without the slightest hint of a challenge. They need this more than any other team IMHO.
