I just plain love any animal(that is not an insect), but I suppose I love birds the most. My favorite one is the pileated woodpecker
Then for mammals it would have to be the zebra

The otter, by far. The platypus as a distant second.
Edit: Oh, and octopus third. Between changing colors, no bones, and ink shooting, how can you NOT like them?
river otters are my favorite. I like sea otters too, but the river ones are best imo.
These animals can survive in space for 10 days and all they really need is water to survive. They can take extreme temperatures and pressures as well as radiation. Put them on Mars and see what happens.
Hmmm... it's close, but I'd say hippos. They make that sound that's like their laughing and it gets me everytime.
The absolute single craziest nature video I've ever seen (out of a lifetime of obsessively watching nature videos) was a male hippo chasing and killing a baby calf, while underwater, as the calf's mother tried to save it. It made that pride of lions killing an elephant in Planet Earth look like a petting zoo.
In the interest of keeping things in perspective (see the DR post in the snake thread) I've searched high and low for it on the internet and TV ever since, but have never been able to find it. I've seen another one that was similar, but it was nothing in comparison.
Hippos are ing raw.
