Doesn't matter what the league says after the fact. There was no call on the floor because Wright didn't force the refs to blow the whistle. He made a swipe and then threw his hands up like he wasn't trying to do it.
Well, I take that back. I can see a team like Houston or Portland wanting Kidd, but they're not as close as the Lakers or Cavs, and they can't offer more than their MLE either. If the Mavs have the inside track over Cleveland and LA, I'm pretty sure they do over Houston and Portland as well.

Atrocious non-call; Atrocious decision on Wright's part to not play to the whistle. This is the offseason thread, not the game-discussion thread.
Even if Bosh is available the Mavs haven't much to offer. I recall the Warriors were interested in Bosh too and they have young talent to offer. Like Anthony Randolph, who will be a top 5 player in 2-3 years. If I'm trading Chris Bosh it's for young players, not Damp/Stack/Howard/anything the Mavs have
Yeah but what's the deal with Terry talking about this being Kidd's final season with the team? He's talking like Jason is already passing on the idea of re-signing. Unless Cuban gives him stupid money I don't know if Kidd is back.
How do you know what the Raptors want?
Sounds more like you hope Bosh isn't available because it means your beloved Joshor your beloved Damp
or your beloved anybody on the Mavs
won't be with the team next year

What's the market for Shawne Williams and Matt Carroll?![]()
I wonder about that too. It might have been sloppy choice of words on his part, or maybe he is privy to future decisions that the general public is not. I think Kidd wants a decent payday, and he wants to be on a team with a shot. I just think all things considered, he'll be back if the Mavs want him back.
Good luck with that.

Hope so. Either way, that first round pick needs to be a PG, and it needs to be a Josh/Devin type pick, not the usual Ager/Fazekas/P-Pod/Foster/etc. bullcrap we've been subjected to by Donnie.
If Shinn gifts CP3 to the Mavs to get rid of bad contracts, I might cry.
All I know is the Mavs don't really have excuses for not substantially upgrading the roster this offseason. Lots of teams will be holding back waiting until 2010 to reshape their rosters, and there will be plenty of teams looking to dump salary.
Probably not as long as CP3 continues to be a big (financial) draw in The Big Easy....everyone else on the team seems expendible though.
I agree with most of the suggestions made, I also think the Mavs should blow it up after 2009-2010 though, unless they win it all.
Even with the assets I'm just not sure if the Mavs can actually become contenders. Significantly get better sure, but contenders? It appears to be King James' time and just like with MJ in the past a many hearts will be broken in the next few years. but maybe I'm overrating Lebron and underestimate league parity.
And that's if you get past the Lakers, who seem set for the next 2-3 years with no signs of anyone emerging to threaten them in that time span (in the West).
?quien es Tony Longoria? Tony Longoria es un cornudo.
The Mavericks have to be thinking, hey, we got to the 2nd round without Stackhouse and George, perhaps if they were playing we could've gone even further, perhaps even a trip to the Finals. And then you have to consider Howard's ankles. When healthy, we're talking about a guy who gives you 20 points, 8 rebounds, energy and hustle. He wasn't an All Star for no reason Mike. The Mavericks really have to consider this a successful year given all the adversity and injuries they dealt with.
We have an obsession with s here in Dallas.
Antoine "I Eat s" Wright
Devean " breath" George
It's unhealthy.
Whatever they do this offseason, it needs to be huge. With the way guys are shipped around and how quickly some teams can rebuild, it's hard to say that any team's window is closed any longer. I want a big name, Mark and Donnie (yuck) - a huge trade or acquisition that is going to make other teams and moan all season long about how unfair it was. I like what Carlisle has done and there are some good young players on this roster. Fix it and fix it quickly, though. I'm tired of this .
Damn straight he did - what a moron. You want to foul someone you don't then throw your hands up in the international "I didn't do nuthin" signal!
I'm really enjoying these Thuggets tearing you guys a new arsehole, especially after all the smack talk when you knocked us out - it was clear to a village idiot that neither of our teams were going anywhere this year.
Chauncey freakin Billups. He's got that 2004 look in his eye, and as long as JR Smith's brain doesn't implode, I reckon these guys can beat the Lakers in 7. Nene, Martin and Birdman is a tough front line, and I think they might mess Gasol and Bynum up a little.
Well guys time for my irrational homer trade/roster proposals that may not even be legal
1. Resign Kidd, Singleton, Hollins
2. Use MLE on Marcin Gortat
3. Sign James White to a minimum contract
4. Bring Shan Foster over from Europe
5. Not sure if we have the bi-annual exception, but if we do, target Steve Novak
6. Trade Stack/Damp for Shaq (incentive for Dallas: paint scoring, salary dump for PHX)
7. Resign Bass, and trade him with 2009#1/Antoine mutha in Wright for Gerald Wallace-we're probably pipedreaming here, but is there any incentive for CHA to keep Wallace? He's likely peaked and his contract runs through 2012-2013, doesn't seem worth the money. Save some cash and acquire 3 young players. Antoine Wright = next John Salmons
8. Shawne Williams/J-Ho for Vince Carter- Salary dump, VC doesn't fit Nets' rebuilding plan and J-Ho gives them a 3. Mono assures me Shawne Williams is athletic and laden with potential, so why wouldn't a rebuilding team want him?. Gives Mavs a 2 guard, gives the Nets a salary dump, a good player, and a young player with potential.
Theoretically, Mavs improve their outside shooting (Novak/Foster/Carter), their ability to generate FTa's (Shaq/Wallace/Carter), and their paint scoring (Shaq/Wallace). This gives the Mavs offensive balance. The offense was good this year but imbalanced, with an over reliance on 2-PT jump shots and not enough FTA/3-PT%/points in paint. Shaq is a decent defensive presence and Wallace is an energetic defensive player, so some improvement on that end of the floor is expected as well.
Kidd/Carter/Wallace/Dirk/O'Neal
Barea/Terry/Singleton/Gortat/Hollins
Foster/Novak/Carroll/White
Terry as a 2nd option doesn't cut it, but this relegates him to a 4th/5th option. Kidd's lack of offense is mitigated with increased offense at the 2 and 5.
Going to ing WAR with that lineup.
Are those actual nicknames or mono nicknames
The breath nickname was in hilarious.
Bye Bye Gerald Green...Thanks for the memories
So today on The Ticket, Norm mentioned a rumor that Dallas was talkin with Washington about trading for the #5 pick.
My initial reaction was "What a re ed idea" because aside from Griffin & Rubio, everybody in this draft blows. But Norm had a halfway decent theory that the Mavs would doing this to get someone like Antawn Jamison, and the Wiz do it for salary dump purposes.
But then I thought that maybe with all the rumors that Rubio won't go to a crap hole like OKC or Memphis, getting the #5 pick gives Dallas better trade bait with those teams.
Ricky Rubio in Dallas!
Its like 2004 all over again!!1
