I know who has the best enchiladas and usually eat lunch there twice a week but there's no ing way I'm publishing their name in here...it's hard enough to get in there as it is...
is it just me or has the quality of enchiladas in the SA area gone down a lot in the last 5-7 years?
I'm not even sure who has the best any more. Even Blanco Cafe has disappointed me lately.
Perico's is easily my favorite spot for Mexican food but Im getting burned out.
who's currently #1 for enchiladas?

good for you. thanks for nothing.
Mi Tierra has decent enchiladas.![]()
I miss Alfonso's.............
I remember the restaurant on Southcross and New Braunfels with all the puppets hanging from the ceiling.
Where ever it is is probably out of my price range.
I make kick ass enchiladas at home but I don't want to toot my own horn.
Sorry, but when a great place only has 10 tables you gotta be careful who you tell about it.
I've been there but I wasn't that impressed.
thanks. i needed that.
my guess is it's Mendez. i've never tried their enchiladas, but everything else i've tried is great. they have about 10 tables.
You can get great enchiladas in just about anyone of those little hole-in-the-wall places where the waitresses don't even speak English. Those places are too small to have a name half the time, but they always have the best food.
You're laughing because you don't eat "real" enchiladas! You probably just eat those tex-mex meat sauce things they sell here![]()
I'm still partial to Brown's.
Yeah, there is this little place off of West Ave near Bitters next to Boston Subworks that has great food.
I completely understand.
Were you the kid growing up that always said "hey check out my new bike. No, you can't ride it."
they have pretty good breakfast tacos.
YW
It's not like we go there every weekend, but once in a while it's ok.But their pan dulce is :drool
What's the difference? As far as I can tell, Tex-Mex enchiladas are different only in not having the red chile in the guisada. I like them both ways though.
Yeah, that is where we get them from in the office.
Didn't we just have this conversation a couple of weeks ago? You didn't have a clue what I was talking about !
name one.
My mom made the best enchiladas, no meat filled, just a plain red sauce.![]()
The guisada is the difference. That is what makes it tex mex. Real mexican enchiladas have only red chile sauce.
