The masterrrr of panic.
And Rondo not getting the 2 suspensions he deserved in the 1st round helped a lot too
The masterrrr of panic.
When the Magic were up by 14 in the 4th, I told my wife "The Celtics will have the lead before the end of the game." She didn't believe me. Guess she believes me now.
To be fair, I saw the following missed calls tonight, all in Boston's favor:
The 3 that should've been a 2.
The ball did not touch the rim.
The shot clock was clearly at zero before Ray Allen put up that shot near the end.
That should've been a jumpball at the end, not Celtics' ball.
That said, the Magic shot 6/23 from beyond the arc tonight...pathetic, especially for a team known for its 3-point shooting. If they had hit a few more of those, they win this game tonight.
Oh, well...Stern wants a Cavs-Celtics rematch in the ECF, and what Stern wants, Stern usually gets.
KG isnt coming back. Our stupid organization ed up the whole situation about them holding him out when in reality he wont be a factor if he does return. I admire the heart these s are showing.
Wtf is he supposed to say?
"Well, it was a good game, and we were lucky to beat a team so much better than us. Hopefully we can get another lucky game, maybe some help from the refs again, so we will have the extreme fortune of getting blown out by double digits by the Cavs. Oh and Lebron, if you need a massage, you know my number, give me a call."

Is Orlando the only PO team w/o any fan posting on ST ??
" After eating Paul Pierce alive, King James is about to clean his teeth with the Truth's socks (the Truth sucks; did you see what I did? ) "
![]()
The first two are true, im pretty sure your right about the 3rd, and the 4th i really dont know.
Okay...I went back and watched Ray Allen's shot again...looks like he JUST got the shot off in time...and that shot did hit the rim...you can clearly see the ball change direction.
The other shot that the refs said hit the rim DID NOT...it brushed the net well below the rim...that one was not even close...that call was laughable. It also took away Orlando's last really good chance to take the lead before the intentional fouling started.
I hate it when an otherwise good game is spoiled by stupid calls right at the end. Can't we have an exciting, close game without bad refereeing???![]()
Still 14 point lead with less then 5 minutes to go. How can you blow that?
Your argument and reasoning don't cooperate. If you don't think the gifts the Celts got affected the outcome (which they obviously did), how can you say the call in the Mavs-Nugs game did? Plenty of things could have happened before that possession to change the outcome.
As soon as I saw the players complaining that the ball hit the rim, I just knew the refs would cave into pressure and make the BS call.
Young team, on the road, facing the defending champs...the Celtics started to get on a run, and the Magic just folded like a $5 lawnchair...![]()
There has been at least three non calls (one on a rasherd Lewis shot; one other on a Howard rebound; one oter on a Turkoglu shot) on fauls made from Boston players in the last 7 minutes...the non calls help a lot the coming backs.
On the other side, at the minimum touch it was a call in Boston favor.
I Understand they were playing at home and a little advantage in comprehensible...but that was too much.
Van Gundy and Magic players were clearly frustrated by the referees behavior.
So, I think, the neutral public (like I am...better like I was before this game...)
