They're going to have to go out and get a FA wide receiver that can help make a difference. What team is really going to be afraid of a threat of Crayton, Austin, and Hurd. Two of them are unproven and don't really strike fear in a defense. Roy Williams has at least shown in the past that he can put up number, and so has Witten. That's why the loss of TO has really hurt the Cowboys. They had some offensive threat at the receiver position. TO made Witten and Crayton better. TO could have made Roy Williams better. If they would have given the TO/Williams one year to prove or disprove that they could work together and then release TO, I wouldn't have had a problem with it.
Oh well, it's time look forward. I can't wait for the season to start!

TO stuck up for Romo when he was fighting for a contract. TO was a decent teammate, albeit one who led the NFL in drops, when he was fighting for a contract. They're not so desperate at the receiver position that they should have to try to tolerate the distraction that he causes. I'm not sure how people simply pointing out the above qulify as "haters blaming him for all the problems."

The Cowboys have the best tight end in football, their second TE is very good, and they've got a good young crop of receivers, along with as talented a group of running backs as anybody in the league. I'm sure the Cowboys have someone on the roster that's capable of catching a long pass that hits them in the hands. In fact, there's probably a number of people on the roster that can be completely shut down by press coverage or are unaware of where the first down marker is, but fortunately most of them aren't playing wide receiver or whine when they don't get the ball thrown their way. Yes..they have more problems than T.O...and they know that. That's why they traded for 12 picks in the draft. Don't get pissed off at the team because of all the fans that open their mouths and say "Just because TO is gone we're gonna win the SB now." The Cowboys know better than that. But, he was a huge locker room problem, and he made Tony Romo constantly feel like he had to look for him first, because you have to keep TO happy or there's going to be problems. I feel sorry for Buffalo. But...the Cowboys KNOW that their problems go deeper than TO...but you have to start somewhere.
If there's a fan that said that and actually meant it, I'm right there with Stretch calling them out. TO ain't the reason they coughed up a lung in the playoffs. If for no other reason, his absence means there are no excuses for the other people responsible for the team.

I don't know if they meant it, but there's a lot of fans on dallascowboys.com and TrueBlue that are commenting on articles that think just because TO is gone that the chances of going to the SB have gone up. It doesn't help when the writers try to give the impression that this offense is better without one of the greatest wide receivers of all time.
I think the Cowboys have done a lot to try and improve in some areas that they really needed improving on like special teams. Most of the guys they drafted can be impact guys on special teams. They fired the special teams coach, and brought in someone who is a highly qualified special teams coach. (I've noticed that the special teams hasn't been very special since they let go of Joe Avezzano.) They replaced Zach Thomas with Keith Brooking. They really need the LB spot opposite of DeMarcus Ware to step up. Anthony Spencer or Greg Ellis needs to take some pressure off of D-Ware.
This thread turned into a rather nice venting session....especially regarding the Cowboys, lol. Lets try to keep the wishes of personal harm to others at a minimum; failure can come without injury/perosonal crises.
Oh and I almost forgot, down with the Stealers (spelled that way to imply thievery of Super Bowl XL*). Maverick fans think they got ripped off in '06....Seahawk fans got worked over WAAAAY worse by the officiating in that year's final game.
I said I didn't agree that just because TO is gone that the Cowboys are now going to win the super bowl, but I'll say without any reservation that their chances of winning the super bowl just went way the up now that TO isn't on the team. That's why I wanted them to cut his ass in the first place. He put up really good numbers, but it's not like he did anything all that amazing. He got open on soft single coverage a number of times and caught the ball when it hit him in the hands. He caught maybe three or four tough passes the entire season, which didn't make up for his drops or mental mistakes. Even if that was a wash, his presence was fracturing the team from top to bottom. I don't give a if it was his fault or not, I'd rather just see his ass gone and move on. I absolutely believe that their offense is going to be better next year now that Romo and Garrett don't have to worry about a meltdown after a win because TO didn't have enough passes thrown his way.
But like I said earlier, if Romo's decision making remains poor this year, he's got no excuses. And if the offense tries to be too cute and stops producing anything other than turnovers like it did at the end of the season, Garrett has no excuses either.

Personally, I don't wish ill on him or the Bills. I'm just glad he's their potential problem and not Dallas' anymore.

Agreed. I don't see the Bills coming out of their division. The Pats will be strong as always, and I think they're the only team that is going to make the playoffs out of that division.
The Jets SHOULD have a Raven-like defense with Rex there (even though they have no receivers) and a good running attack which might be enough to get them by for a Wild Card birth. Dolphins were good last season, but not great and the Bills have question marks along the O-Line as well as an inconsistent QB.
