Bourousis is a nice player i have seen him playing. I don't know if he could adjust to the NBA level. But one thing is sure. He is better than Splitter that is considered to be the hope of Spurs. He is bigger, has better range and generally is a better player. Paidia poioi alloi milane ellinika edo?

According to greek media there are 2 proposals from the NBA to sign Ioannis Bourousis(2.10-C) in the following summer. Bourousis becomes a free-agent this summer and there have been no announcements regarding a contract renewal with Olympiakos. Another interesting fact here is that Bourousis does not have a high contract as some other playes in the team. In fact he has one of the lowest ones and the reason for that is because when he first signed with Olympiakos he wasn't as good as he is now.

The 2 teams interested to sign Bourousis are San Antonio and Miami. Miami is also prepared to guarantee his playing time in order to make the offer more appealing. The general consensus in Greece is that Olympiakos will have the first word about Bourousis. The player and his agent know that the Aggelopoulos brothers are generous enough to make his decision quite easy if it comes to money. The fact remains that Bourousis will make a lot more money playing for Olympiakos or any other european team than playing for an NBA team. He averaged 12.5 points and 7.4 rebounds in 22 games in the Euroleague and he has averaged 12.2 points and 7.4 rebounds in 26 games in the greek A1 league so far including the play-offs.

Yes Morey went to Greece and met him before as we already know. But no reports of offers in stories now from Rockets. Why is this? With Mutombo retire and Yao always get injured and needs to play less minutes how come Rockets not want Ioannis? He can even shoot 3s and play some at PF next to Yao. He would be able to let Yao play less minutes and to start for Rockets if Yao get injure. Plus unlike Hayes is true 7 foot guy. It is very odd why Rockets did not offer contract (at least it look that way now) after they had meeting.

Maybe they knew something that the rest of us didn't know?

    I'm from Greece too.
I don't know if Bourousis is better than Splitter but they are both realy good players.
Bourousis could become a realy good prospect for the NBA, but not a great one.
He will be by far better than Bonner as a starter next year if he deicides to play for Spurs. He could be like Omberto in his prime.
He is a great defender and a good shooter from outside.
I doubt that he will ever have Kaman's numbers but for sure he is already better than a lot other Europeans.

Bourousis > Mark Gasol, Nenad Krstic, Rasho Nesterovic, Joakim Noah, Eric Dampier, Kwame Brown, Samuel Dalembert, Haywood(those 8 players are startes in NBA teams)

he is absolutely not the saviour of the Spurs. But it would be a smart move for Spurs to sign him.

    good rebounder and shot blocker

one of the big men in europe

might disappear in games the only bad thing so the spurs might stillw ant to go after sheed or dice also

but anyway about this guy....he seems lk he would be a pretty decent player in the NBA....i am all for signing this guy...we need someone to help out timmy and it looks like he can play on both sides of the ball....and i think the fact that he can play besides the best PF of all time could help us in signing this guy

I find the Hollinger Euroleague formula for NBA

Here is Ioannis Bourousis NBA stats per 36 minutes base on this formula. And remember Spurs fans was saying it was a lie because it predict Scola will get more rebounds in NBA than in Euroleague. You learn lesson already on that of how much easier it is to get rebounds in NBA.

Here is Bourousis Hollinger stats for NBA at 36 minutes this is what he would be predict to do in NBA if he play 36 minutes (3 quarters) you can use formula for 40 minutes or 36 I use 36 because Spurs do not play players that much.

    52.0% FG

    15.8 points
    14.8 rebounds
    1.5 assists

    1.2 steals
    0.8 blocks

Using the same logic J Vaughn's per 36 min stats for the playoffs would have been 13 pts 7 ast and 0 TOs. Enough said.

John Hollinger is the guy who had none other but Jackie freaking Butler as the 8th best player in the NBA in one statistical analysis of his in the summer we got him. Enough said.

WTF? This is Euroleague to NBA. It has nothing to do with changing NBA stats per minute for NBA players. This board said his stats were a lie because it predicted Scola will get 8-10 rebounds possibly with big play time in NBA. Fans here all said it was crazy and "stupid" because he only average 5 in Europe.

Yes fans just as "smart" as you.

Duh! If it was somebody else I would have taken the time to discuss and argue, but it's pointless with you, so it's not worth the effort.

You do not even know what it is. All you can think is it is a per minute stat. It is sad.

Oh I do know very well what this is. You get a guy who averages 10 pts and 6 rebs in 20 mins in Europe, then double his minutes and production ( how come? anyway ) and then you decrease his scoring and increase his rebounding rate, then you claim these are his projected NBA stats per 40 mins, which is absolutely pointless and has nothing to do with reality, which I'm going to prove using your own link.

Let's get a guy like Ersan Ilyasova, who is relatively known, because he's been in the NBA. Ilyasova has averaged 11.2 pts and 7.3 reb in 21.7 min in Euroleague play this season , which translates to 15.2 pts and 15.9 reb (!) per 40 mins in the NBA under the Hollinger formula. This information is directly from the article you've posted, so you can't deny it.

Now, according to this formula you've applied for Bourousis, Ilyasova looks like an equal player to him, yet you've only overhyped Bourousis? How come you haven't mentioned Ilyasova as well as a viable option? We all know what Ilyasova did in the NBA, and while he might have improved a bit in Spain, nobody would take his projected numbers seriously.

You can't possibly believe Bourousis would average 14.8 rebs in the NBA, so calling me stupid or whatever is fine, but there are people on this board who are very knowledgeable and who are getting tired of your baseless, pointless, linkless drivel.

I was under the impression that Bourousis was a much better shotblocker than those projected numbers indicate.
