For those asking for Magic, Kareem, Hakeem, this is about 1985 on up(The year Ewing went #1) The start of the Lottery Era.
Bron is their darling, you have to understand that. He can be the best ever, but he is not there yet nor proved it. Tim has proven what he could do already and has 4 les and 2 MVP's, three finals MVP's, as of now he is ahead of Bron and in an argument with Shaq at this moment as the #1. I know they left off Hakeem and Magic too, why? Are they high? They are ahead of Bron for now too IMO, until Bron wins two or three they are ahead of him for now too.
This is all just the truth.

Okay man thanks for that there bra, I knew something was up there. Magic, Kareem and Hakeem as of now >>>>> BRON, Tim is above him for now too as I know it, he is easily above Bron for now, he even swept him in the finals (Team game I know but come on now).
well, i think that if you want to rank 1st draft picks, you got to go with what they meant to the team that drafted them.
then, i would really like to know how the can LBJ and Shaq be ahead Tim ?????
we're talking about 4 les on one side and none on the others sides.
The lottery only came into effect in 1985, the year after Hakeem went #1.
About the Top Ten, i think Duncan should be number 1 - because of what he has done for the franchise which drafted him. But in terms of player impact alone, i can live with Shaq being ahead of Duncan (interchangable in my mind), but LeBron? At least wait until he wins a championship to put him ahead of a guy who has four of them.
Chris Webber should be above Howard and Yao.
Until Lebron leads his team to 4 NBA Championships, there is no way he is ahead of Tim. Shaq I can see because he has 4 (3 with LA & 1 with Miami) and he has some awesome career stats to back him being #1.
Also ... MJ was what, a 3rd pick? What were Bird and Magic? Wasn't one or both #1 picks? How about the old timers like Bill Russel, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, to mane just a few?
Link to the article???
Arbitrary rankings, guys.
Shaq was drafted by who again?
Pretty not sure he's gonna have a Magic jersey on at the Wax museum.
Shaq cost Orlando more than he ever gave them, IMO - took them a decade to recover after he bolted.
Orlando's drafting of Shaq netted them exactly as many rings as the Spurs drafting of Schintius. The value of Tim vs. Shaq to the TEAM THAT ACTUALLY DRAFTED EACH??? Literally Night and Day.
i dont see what you guys are complaining about, i mean Lebron is already better than any 2 players ever, he can do anything perfect, hes won a nobel peace prize and is a decorated war hero, has cured cancer, saved puppies from a burning house, was elected president a few months ago, and all recent polling says the world finds him to be a better and more popular man than Jesus.
Best poop post ever.
He could do actually do all that and Ducks would still think he's overrated.

Lebron is Number 1,
AHH you gotta love ESPN..![]()
was this on their website or tv?
I agree, but in this case, lebron's case, it doesnt matter. Lebron is just magic, he can be called a god.
My problem with shaq besides that he's a ing moron is that he was a one-way player, You don't see ben wallace ranked among the great he won 4 DPOY awards as good defensively as shaq offensively. You can't be an all-time great if you can't play D.
at a comparison between Shaq and Ben Wallace.
LeBron has to accomplish more for him to be put in front of Duncan. Duncan has been top individual, 2 time MVP, and top team player, 4 time champion. Statistically, Duncan has put together a much longer and just as accomplished body of work.
Putting him ahead of Duncan is bad enough but the fact that LeBron is put in front of Magic Johnson, Kareem abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, AND Duncan is laughable.
Kareem, Magic and the Big O were not mentioned because this is a list #1 lottery picks.Putting him ahead of Duncan is bad enough but the fact that LeBron is put in front of Magic Johnson, Kareem abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, AND Duncan is laughable.
So basically this is ESPN trying to force in the hype machine with another arbitrary piece of . Now they just need Stephen Smith to tell us how great this list is.

Nowhere in the transcript, le or footage does it talk about the lottery.
The le say "SportsCenter ranks the best No. 1 draft picks in NBA history"
Not comparing them just saying they both only played on one-way jackass!
Look at this cuckold. Have you read any post? Shaq was #1 and LeBron #2.
If you watched the episode of ESPN, 3:00 PST, you would know they did say lottery era. They even said "The top 10 picks of the lottery era, which was implemented to try and stop "obvious" tanking"
Shaq made all defensive team two or three times, is seventh all time in blocked shots, and has been all-NBA a dozen times.
Ben Wallace almost averaged ten points per game one year.
Poor comparison. The only thing dumber is trying to defend it.![]()
Hey I didn't watch it and many people are corroborating this but its not stated as such on their site or in the transcript. Its a stupid list either way.
