Kobe just would have been a 6 or 7 time All Star if that were the case .... the dude is 95% pure media hype. it takes him 30-35 shot attempts to score 40 points (and that's with help from the NBA / Refs with his typical 10-15 FREEBIE points from the line to help inflate his scoring numbers)
Your a funny poster bro, but your hatred for Kobe and the lakers clouds your judgment. If you truly believe all the "freebie" talk and all this other bull , then just stop watching the NBA. Chris Paul gets more freebies from flops alone. Like I said man, your a funny cat and you hands down have the best sig pics, but the laker hatred just comes off as bitter, biased, and uninformed

I always LOL when people mention the 81 points he scored. He scored 81 points against a trash team. First off, I admit he's a scorer, but that's it. That's all he is. He's a pure scorer. The only different between him and Ray Allen is Kobe can put the ball on the floor.

I'd take Pippen over Kobe because as the old saying goes "Defense wins games, wins championships."

Btw, David Robinson scored 72 points once. How come I don't see people sucking him off?

scottie was the superior defensive player..he had the long arms, speed, and athleticism to guard almost anyone. however as much as i like pippen he could not score like kobe. his best scoring season was when jordan left for baseball i believe he averaged around 22 a game. pippen had more of an all around game but kobe is def. better scorer

To borrow a line from Jay-Z - "If I'm not better than BIG, I'm the closest one."

That's how I feel about the Kobe-MJ debate. LeBron is coming up fast though. Needs to add something to the championship ring case to be worthy of it though.

This year will truly decide it for now.

As much as people say Kobe isn't MJ, its rare to they fill the gap with who is better than Kobe yet still less than or better than MJ. LeBron could be on his way but they list starts and stops there.

    Reggie Miller >>>>> Kobe

No, seriously, Kobe is a great player. He is a natural scorer. The only thing I question is his leadership ability, other than that, he is one of the all time greats. The guy makes shooting the ball look easy. He makes difficult shots, and sometimes makes it look like the ball is rigged to go in.

There are several trash teams in the league every season. How come there aren't other players that score 80+ points on these trash teams every year? Discounting a guy who scores 81 points on an NBA team, no matter how bad the team, is pretty absurd. Yes, the Raptors were trash when he did it. He still did it. Only one other player in the history of the league can claim he scored as many points on an NBA team. Whether or not you like the guy, you can't dismiss the 81. It's absurd to do so.

sons why do people look past the fact that Kobe's field goal percentage is a total joke? LOL ... his career field goal percentage is a PATHETIC 45% and he averages 20 shot attempts per game only to barely average 25 points per game .....

its funny how all the media cares about is one stat.... points per game. they don't care that it takes the dude 20 shot attempts to score 25 points ... LMAO 45%. yet some people have the nerve to say he is arguably the greatest?

45% from the field for a perimeter player who shoots a lot of jumpers is not outstanding, but it certainly isn't pathetic. Especially in this era of basketball where defenses are better than in the 80s and 90s. Look at a sharp shooter like Ray Allen, and his career FG% is right at 45% too. Ginobili, Paul Pierce, Vince Carter, T-Mac, Joe Johnson all the same or under 45% on their careers.

LeBron and Wade have better FG% because early on in their careers, they attack the basket much more. The ability to do so and more so the ability to finish at the rim when they do attack is what makes them very special players. Then there are the rare few perimeter players that are just able to shoot high percentages, like Nash, Chris Paul, Tony Parker, and Wally Szczerbiak for whatever reason, generally because of their shot selection, similar to John Stockton. They almost always take good shots, open shots, and generally don't force tough jumpers that are well contested.

Kobe attacks the rim, but less frequently than guys like LeBron and Wade. He just shoots more jumpers than he does lay-ups and dunks on drives. 45% FG is more than adequate for a superstar wing player in today's NBA. Could be better, should be better. But it's not pathetic. It's also important to note that if you take the three years after Shaq was traded out of the equation where Kobe was often double and triple teamed and also forced a lot of shots at the end of shot clocks, he would be closer to about 46.5% FG shooter, which would be very good for a perimeter player in today's league.

son you are right. 45% field goal shooting is not PATHETIC for just your average NBA All Star player .... however it IS PATHETIC for someone like Kobe who the media tries to convince people is the greatest of all time (or at least in the top 3). Kobe is a very GOOD player, but a selfish player who needs a TRUE leader to win a championship. Kobe simply does not have what it takes to be a real leader like great players such as Shaq, Jordan, Bird, etc., etc. He is far from "great". damn good, but far from great.

cp3 shot 41.1% in the playoffs

    overhyped

not even a top 10 PG in the league really

    parker/rose/rondo/williams/nash/kidd/harris/nelson/billups/miller > Cp3

he had his nice little fluke run but i think the league has caught up and exposed him as an undersized flopper with a loser mentality (121-63 lol)
