Yeah...I agree. But in the end, it's up to Kroenke and Vince to handle it. Even though he had a contract, Vince would have been ok with all of this if Kroenke had tried to get in contact with him, instead of just having some crony tell Vince he wasn't backing down. Kroenke isn't a better person or higher up than Vince..they both have businesses...he could have had the balls to speak to Vince personally..and Vince would have had no problem with helping them out. Instead, he treated him like a nobody...Vince hates that . Pepsi Center is done with the WWE..Kroenke just lost a lot of money.
While I didn't see the contract, assuming Vince isn't lying about it... Why is this even a question? The Pepsi-Center owners are in the wrong. Period. There is no grey area here. The should have told the NBA that the arena was booked that day, and to change the schedule accordingly. They didn't. Those owners should pay every cent they cost the WWE for transportation, ticket vending, and Staples Venue cost.
I don't get any of this really. I don't understand why we can have 5 days between first round games but this game HAD to fall on that night. I don't understand why the Nuggets would be the ones to blame and not the NBA, the TV network, or someone else. I don't get why people pay good money to see nearly naked men pretend to fight each other. I don't get any of it.
It is a contract..you have to have a contract to book a stadium like the Pepsi Center. Yes..they are in the wrong. And they would have told the NBA it was booked that day, but it wasn't. The WWE booked the arena back in August of 2008 for this event...and Stan Kroenke didn't think enough of his Denver Nuggets to make sure the arena was booked through June just in case they did well in the playoffs. Ignorant mistake. But somehow they got out of it. Vince may sue for all the money it takes to get there, and at the same time, Stan Kroenke will probably never see the WWE for Pay Per Views, Raw, Smackdown, ECW, Superstars, or House Shows ever again...they make stadiums a LOT of money..but probably never the Pepsi Center again...wow..what a up.
The Nuggets are to blame because they didn't inform the NBA that the night they scheduled the game, the arena was already booked. They decided to fight it. Hate on wrestling all you want, but it's a HUGE money making business. More people spend $60 for a Pay Per View than watch all playoff games of any sports, except the Super Bowl. And if you're raised watching it, like I was with my grandfather, sometimes it just stays with you. Bottom line is, it was contracted to the WWE, and Vince let the Pepsi Center out of it..but I guarantee you it will cost them a LOT of money over the years.

The $500 dollar front row ticket is only for pay-per-views. RAW, ECW, and Smackdown are closer to a $100. People pay it for the same reasons people pay that kind of money to see a concert front row. Also, with the pay-per-views, the one's sitting on the floor get to take the nice padded chair they're sitting on home. WWE happy to tag Nuggets owner Kroenke as villain

WWE knows how to conjure up a villain.
Less than 24 hours after announcing it was bolting Denver for Los Angeles because of a scheduling conflict, World Wrestling Entertainment was distributing a promotional image of chairman Vince McMahon and Nuggets and Pepsi Center owner Stan Kroenke.
Superimposed above a photo of McMahon smiling beatifically was a halo; a shot of a dour-looking Kroenke had two red horns atop his head.
WWE was still milking the moment Thursday, securing space at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square for a news conference complete with star wrestler Triple H. Giant flat-screen TVs blared WWE highlights and supporters clapped and hollered as McMahon stepped to the podium.
No matter whether Kroenke, an owner who prefers to stay in the shadows, was closely involved in the arena being double-booked for WWE’s Monday Night Raw and a Nuggets-Lakers playoff game on the same night. WWE isn’t letting this go easily. And Kroenke himself makes a much more appealing target than the faceless en y of his company, Kroenke Sports Enterprises.
McMahon boiled down the dispute to a basic element of human conflict.
“It makes me feel like our organization and all of WWE fans have been disrespected,” he said.
McMahon insisted all he wanted was a simple apology from Kroenke.
“Had he called me and said, ‘You know what, Vince, we screwed up. We had your event and I didn’t know my team was going to make the playoffs and my management screwed up somehow. I want to apologize to you and I want to make it right in some way,”’ McMahon said.
“Had he picked up the phone and called me and said that, I really don’t know what I would have done, except I wouldn’t have done this.”
Kroenke Sports no longer wanted to engage in the debate. But it was too late to stop the publicity machine of WWE, clearly intent on inflicting as much embarrassment on the organization as possible.
“We’re not going to fuel the media fire that this guy would like us to,” said Kroenke Sports executive vice president Paul Andrews. “We’re preparing for basketball games. Whatever he does from here is of no concern.”
A lot more people will know who E. Stanley Kroenke is after Monday night, when Raw airs on USA Network from Staples Center, home of the Lakers. WWE plans a parody pitting McMahon’s character against Kroenke’s.
McMahon never missed a chance to mock Kroenke on Thursday, referring to him as “E period Stan Kroenke” on every mention and seemingly pronouncing his last name differently each time.
“I never trusted anyone with an initial for a first name,” he cracked, “and now I know why.”
WWE released the copy of a joint news release it said Kroenke Sports wanted to send out, announcing that the two sides had agreed to move Raw to Sunday night at Pepsi Center. McMahon called the wording “absurd” and claimed it doomed negotiations.
Rolling his eyes and sarcastically enunciating choice words, McMahon read aloud a passage.
“By all accounts,” the release quoted McMahon as saying, “Mr. Kroenke is one of the most respected professional sports team owners in the world, and the professional way he and his staff good-naturedly handled this conflict gives further testament to the type of business leader he is.”
That certainly contradicted the tone of McMahon’s public utterings all week, variations of this missive Thursday: “Their business management is the most inept business management we’ve ever dealt with.”
USA Network was happy to pile on to the story line, sending executive vice president Chris Mc ber to the news conference.
“I want to encourage all WWE fans to tune in this week,” he said, “to stand up, show who you are, show that you can’t be pushed around.”

Watching WWE Superstars right now on WGN, they just showed a graphic of the 5 on 5 tag team match for Monday night. Batista, John Cena, Jerry the King Lawler, MVP, and Guest were in Lakers jerseys. Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase Jr., Cody Rhodes, Big Show, and The Miz were dressed in Nuggets jerseys.
That is absolutely ing priceless..lol...and the bad guys are the Nuggets...beautiful.
