The Lakers are far from a flawless team.

All it takes is the refs not giving them the calls they want and they will start to break down.

    This board is so annoying.

    Everyone ing knee jerks!
Well, I'm sure you will find someone on every board that knee jerks but I agree, it is extremely annoying.

10pt lead in 1st qtr = this is over!
lose a game in the playoffs = that team is done!
win game 1 of a series = sweep!

Nuggets in 6. The Nuggets are the more athletic and better all-around team. In game 2 they beat a team they were supposed to beat. It could easily be 2-0. The only thing that can save the Fakers is the COMISH!

Even Phil said the Lakers are a different team at home. If that was the best they could offer, then it will be 3-1 Denver when they return to Staples.

The Lakers are also the best road team in the NBA for what it's worth.

That is when they don't play Fisher 28 mpg

The Fakers will lose in 6. They are just going to lose to a team they are supposed to lose to. The road record doesn't mean ANYTHING. These teams are totally different from the regular season and Denver should handily dispose of the heartless Fakers.

yea the Lakers road record has no bearing on how they will do on the road.

Where do you guys come up with this ?

First it was matchups don't matter and because CLE was playing so well they would dominate ORL. How much dumber can you guys get?

I've been calling Denver in 6 ever since Yao Ming went down. I just can't see this erratic Laker team beating Denver.
    yep..and I picked Denver in 7.

Well if you'd like us to agree with you that the Lakers road record is an indication of how they'll do in the rest of the playoffs, at this time they are 2-3 on the road in the playoffs.

And FWIW, Denver hasn't been beaten at the Pepsi Center since March (knock on wood), so that's an indicator of how the Nuggets will play at home

I don't think people realize just how bad a game Phil Jackson coached last night. Usually when you look at the box score and see your team winning in nearly every statistical category and still losing the game it's because of the coaching.

    Fisher. 28mpg. 1-9 shooting. Farmar. 6mpg.

Lakers up 13 with 2:40 left in the 1st half. No times called. Nuggets go on a 14-2 run. 13 pt lead is cut to 1pt in a mere 2:40. Wiped out all the good work that was done in the 1st quarter and a half.

Denver goes small in the 3rd. Phil goes small to matchup instead of keeping his bigs in the game. Bynum barely plays in the 2nd half. Lakers lose down the stretch because they can't secure a rebound and can't stop Melo's drives to the basket.

At every stage in the game the Laker's had to overcome Phil's terrible in-game coaching. It's a surprise to me that nobody in the organization has called him out yet, his loyalty to Fisher is going to be the death of this team. The Lakers simply cannot win with Fisher on the floor.

And CLE was 39-2 , won all their home+road playoff games, and lost to the Magic in Game 1.

LAL is a good road team. They have a legitimate chance at winning at least one game there.

When you compare the quality of compe ion that the Cavs faced in the first two rounds to that which the Lakers faced, you can't put too much stock in that. It's not too big of a shock that the Magic were able to win game 1, CLE finally got a real test.

LA lost once in Utah to a depleted Jazz team and twice in Houston to an even more depleted Rockets team. It's not impossible for LA to get a win in Denver; however, seeing as the Nuggets are both at full strength and 3 missed free throws away from being up 2-0, it will be extremely difficult.

I agree. Andersen is tremendous at the Pepsi Center. But the main reason Denver is doing so well is Carmelo. He's dropped 30+ in the last five games and the Lakers don't seem to have an answer as to how to slow him down. If he continues this high-level play Los Angeles doesn't have a chance. I predicted Denver in five and I'm sticking to it.

Read my post a little bit more closely....I mentioned it wasn't impossible, but if you don't think the Lakers are going to have a hard time winning in Denver, you haven't watched the Lakers much in this playoffs.

Too bad they can't just play the game straight up and not let the ref decide it. I should have known better.
