A few years later than it should have been but I'll take it.

Filming for Ghostbusters 3 will begin soon with all of the original cast.
More news about the new Ghostbusters movie we reported earlier. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Dan Aykroyd revealed that the third Ghostbusters movie could start filming soon. He said that all the original cast have now signed on, including Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and of course Aykroyd himself.
Having Bill Murray onboard was crucial, said Aykroyd. Apparently Murray holds a one-fifth controlling interest in the Ghostbusters franchise. He played down Murray’s reluctance to commit to a third movie.
“I've been very busy. Harold's been busy, Ivan's been busy. And a third script really didn't coalesce properly,” said Aykroyd. “And Billy, you can't blame an artist for not wanting to do the same thing again. He did two of them, for God's sake. Although I'm the biggest cheerleader as the originator of the concept but I've never begrudged Billy not doing a third movie. I never said he held it up or that he refused. Hey, listen, he's an artist. You can't force somebody into it. I'm sorry he never read my third draft because I thought it was pretty good but, look, now we're at a point that there's a story that he can accept and that's going to work, and I think we're going to be in production fairly soon. We could be in production by winter."
The new screenplay is by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, the writers of the new Jack Black movie, Year One, directed by Ghostbuster Harold Ramis.
Aykroyd would like to see Ivan Reitman or Harold Ramis direct and is hoping to introduce a new generation Ghostbusters team with female members.
"I'd like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let's revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let's pass it on to a new generation,” he said.
I’m not sure if I like the idea of them introducing a “new generation” of Ghostbusters. Replacing the original cast with a younger comic team could easily fall flat. Still, it will be good see the original team together on screen again, even if it is only for one last time.

I just hope they dont screw it up like they did with the Cartoon. I dont know if I like the idea of "passing the torch".
eh. bill needs to thank coke and heroin for getting this part. bas
I predict a new team of Shia Laboof, Seth Rogan, Nick Cannon and Zack Efron.
Cool!! Relive the good old timesss![]()

Wow lol Angry Video Game Nerd got this one correct just like he did about John Rambo.
In AVGN's ghostbuster reviews, he talked about how it would be cool if a third GhostBusters came out with the original cast. lol
The first two would be great. The last two...not so much.
I would be so onboard with this...
And Miley Cyrus as their plucky secretary.
I can't wait for the epic Saved by The Bell movie.![]()
I say Mos Def over Nick Cannon for the black dude
I still haven't watched Ghostbusters 1.![]()
The comments about Hollywood being out of ideas seem out of place, as this isn't a remake or reimagining, but rather a proper sequel (in theory).
That being said, the combination of Aykroyd and "passing the torch" makes me thing of Blues Brothers 2000. And that ain't a pleasant thought.
Whats next, Ferris Bueller takes another Day Off?
I see major suckage ahead.
Thats what Im afraid of too but looking at the game, which Akroyd and the rest of the guys wrote the script for, I have some hope. The game looks genious.
Wohoo, I loved the old movies and the original animated tv-showGood news in times where they produce crappy movies. Anyone else hoping for a return of the Masters of the Universe?
Is there any news or confirmation to the rumours of a new movie called "Breakin' 3: Electric Badunkadunk" ?
Everyone needs to chill out. First of all it's only a sequel. Second, even if it was a remake (which I think is a legit reason to be upset), its not like its a classic. It's only a cult classic and cult classics are open for anything IMO. And finally, the second movie SUCKED. So it's not like they're doing to Ghostbusters like they did to The Godfather by making a crappy third with the first 2 being epic. It's actually good that they're doing this just to get the taste of mediocrity from the 2nd out of our mouthes.
