Rasheed, is that you?
Did you really post both of these in the same thread? You obviously didn't see the Original Post in the way depicted in the photo.
Rasheed, is that you?
That was great.
I was seeing the game in my room and Sean started making some 3s to put us back in the game, then Elie got involved with Sabonis on a rebound and Elie barked something at him and that moment I thought we won't lose this game.
And when Sean made that shot I went CRAZY!!!
I want to have this game in the original NBC broadcast. I only have in VCR with the terrible brazilian announcers. When Sean made the shot they didn't even know if it was a 2 or a 3![]()
Elie was great psychologist.
He knew how to motivate his teammates, his timing was just perfect.
I loved Mario Elie in 99. I hated him in 2000 when he abrogated all team leadership responsibilities.
+1. As great a shot as it was, it was nearly a bonehead move by Elliott.
I remember watching that game at my parents' house (both avid Blazer fans). I thought the ball would go down low to David or Timmy for the tie. When Sean put up that off balance/on his toes/nearly nearly out of bounds shot I remember yelling...
"WHAT ARE YOU DO-OHHHHH MY GODDDDD IT WENT IN!!!!!!!!!"
Them's the breaks. It went in. SA won. I have to agree with a number of posters in this thread. The greatest single shot in the history of the Spurs.
Yeah Grant had a of a game and series...he was really good the following year...they had a great team, shame they lost to that Piss golden shower and gay purple team from LA in 2000.![]()
I was in Section 124...and that DOME WAS LOUD!!!!!!
I have the taped game on DVD ...and I still get chills watching it, and somehow sense how the vibe was in the dome...alot of fans started to leave by the last minute mark. The key turing point is when Robinson stole the ball from Wallace.
Also in the video is a glimpse of Andrew "The Gorilla" Ashwood. RIP dear friend. Libri, thanks for posting; it's the best of all the YouTube clips. Biggest shot in Spurs history.
it is kind of sad that this has become spurs fans. we are the new boston Celtics talking about our past glories. I guess it is inevitable no one team can be good all the time with the draft and cap how it is.
Section 106, and it was like a freight train running through when Stoudamire was at the line the possession before that shot. I remember Sean hitting his first two threes right away and thinking the Spurs were going to mop the floor with Portland, and then the offense all of a sudden going to for the next 7-8 minutes. I can't believe that ticket only cost me $16.50.![]()
I was watching it in my bedroom at home with a couple of buddies. We absolutely LOST it...it was the most exciting moment I'd had watching the NBA up to that point. And somehow, this wasn't voted as one of the top playoff shots of all time by ESPN..amazing.
Love watching that clip again. I am amazed how high Wallace contested that shot and Sean still drained it.
Yep, it was, for all intents and purposes, a poor decision to take that shot, but he was feeling it that day. Sean deserved one playoff heat-check in his Spurs career. I'm sure glad for his sake that shot went in.
has it really been ten years?
I wish I had been at that game. I was at the Spurs/Portland game where Duncan made two clutch free throws in the 4th to help seal the Spurs win. Dont recall which one.
