Stretch marks pretty much come down to genetics. Some women don't get them. Most do. And there is nothing you can do to prevent them. If you don't gain a lot of excess weight, then they will likely shrink and fade until they are barely noticeable. But it takes awhile.

Minus the "linea negra", I'm going through the same thing. Our boy is due in the middle of Sept. Your wife very moody, LnGrrrR?
If he ends up being born on the 12th my daughter will be exactly one year older than him

Exactly. I've also noticed that the younger and more fit the person is the less likelihood of seeing stretch marks. My wife was young when she had the girls and when she had our boy she got a few very narrow hardly noticeable marks. I thanked the baby jesus a million times because I wasn't looking forward to ing a Freddy Krueger victim for the rest of my life.

Stretch marks come down to how pliable your skin is. Some peoples skin stretches a lot, others the skin reaches its breaking point (for lack of a better term) and leaves the marks.

The truth hurts. Every man thinks this. I'm just willing to actually acknowledge it whereas most people pretend it doesn't matter.

Right, that's the point. It hurts. Do you really feel the compulsion to inflict needless pain? As to your other point, of course it matters. It matters even more when you're the one it happens to.

Ok, I see. But speak for yourself then, not every man thinks that. There are actually men who dont think it matter and love their woman even if she has stretch marks. Hard to believe ay?

Well, given that my husband was willing to me with all the million stretch marks I have, I'd wager he really doesn't care, or he just shuts his eyes and pictures someone way hotter. Whatever.

I honestly am not able to exercise right now. The nausea gets worse if I move around a lot. I'm grateful for the reassurance, but eager for the end of first tri, because this really sort of sucks.

I'm not intentionally inflicting pain. The poster had some questions and/or was uncertain about things. Showed a concern by lubing her up daily. I commented and pertinently I might add.

I never said it mattered. I never said I wouldn't love my wife or bang the crap out of her stretch marks or not. No one likes stretch marks.....why can't it just be as simple as that.

You people will ing overreact to everything.

Men get stretch marks too. Not too many fat guys don't have them. And being as I've ed a few fat guys, I guess it just doesn't matter to me. At least while it was happening, stretch marks were the last thing on my mind

My wife is pregnant too. I can't wait in 2 weeks we will find out the sex. This will be our second and last child. My wife is not one of those pregnant women who loves it, in fact she hates it very moody and tired and not horny. Although this pregnancy I think I did get a little raped one night. Which you think would be good thing except she just got the urge real early in the morning she got hers and just teased me cause I was barely awake.

Oh don't worry about the chaning diapers thing, not a big deal at all when it is your own child. Although their was a couple of times I pretended to be asleep so I could avoid changing her because I was so tired. We usually just took shifts though I am night person and don't need much sleep so I took care of baby from 9pm-2am if it was after that my wife took care of it.

My wife had REALLY bad nausea the first trimester. She's still tired in the second, but not nausea at least.

Bad news for some of you- morning sickness does not always go away after the first tri-mester. Someone I know had it every day- even the day the baby was born.

Oh, I know, I've had friends with hyperemesis. But I have to think positively that it will end, or I'll just sob into the toilet the next time I vomit. It's not the worst thing ever, I know women who are throwing up more, but I have a really hard time coping with nausea/vomiting anyway. Yesterday was so bad I stayed home from work.

But I'm really grateful that everything seems to be going well, and I even appreciate the m/s (when I'm not throwing up) because it was already fading by this point with Chickadee. It's no guarantee that things are still ok, but our odds are really good at this point, so it's reassuring. I'll still feel better once we hear a heartbeat on doppler though. I've been a mess for most of the last month.

Oh and it doesn't help that I have to eat to feel less sick, but the nausea makes me not want to eat and then there are the food aversions (pretty much all vegetables, most fruits, dairy . . . the only thing that I can remotely stomach is starchy crap and protein) and the smells that turn me off what I'm about to eat . . .

All I can say is my husband has the patience of a saint.
