I sold mine 2 weeks ago. Good riddens.
If you own a PS3, buy it today.
It is sexy. That is all.

Your PS3, I presume?
Cant argue with you. If it wasnt for inFamous, it'd be nothing more than a BluRay player, thats for sure.
I use my ps3 for the internet, porn, and that's about it.
prototype looks better
+1
but both games look pretty good
still have my ps3 but i rarley use it, always playing my 360
I'm worried about prototype. Lack of gameplay videos and no demo and it's a game that is being made by a studio that has recently been bought out. Who knows if this game was rushed or not.
Just sold my PS3 Saturday....
If you own a PS3, give it a shot, thats all I am saying. Yes, I also believe Prototype will be better.
But inFamous is out now and its very good. Very entertaining, moves fast and you level up pretty damn fast.
Its a good thing you do lvl fast, too. Im playing on hard difficulty and little peon enemies were giving me all sorts of trouble in the beginning (in groups). Its a combination of no lock-on system (more challenging, I say), difficulty (enemies are insanely accurate) and the relative low amount of health the main character has (his name is Cole).
If you play it and find yourself having problems, might I suggest leveling up Damage Reduction immediately. 3 levels in 10% increments. I maxed it out and the difference is stunning. You'll still die (a lot), but no nearly as easily.
I like the game for these reasons mostly. It is hard, its supposed to be hard and you cant just dive into the middle of 6 enemies and take all their output and own them. No, you want to keep the highground, pick a few of them off, let them cluster together, then bring the hammer down from on high, get em off their feet, "force push" one side of the group away and smoke the other side. If they recover and start blasting, you must run away! Preferrably to rooftops where most of them cannot get you.
Its frantic and challenging.
Some parallels:
Traveling/Movement: Assassin's Creed - French parkor (sp?) to get around until you get certain upgrades...
Combat: Nothing quite like it, IMO. No lock-on system, so its straight aiming to hit anything (a la Gears). Cole is a force in melee, though, so its nothing like GOW in that respect. Obviously, the superpowers change everything as well. Maybe its more like the Force Unleashed only cool.
Story: Derivative. Pretty basic stuff. It is getting more interesting, though. But really, I know some gamers just skip cutscenes, so most of you probably dont care.
Graphics: Pretty frickin solid. Especially when you go into the sewers and Cole has that natural glow to light the path. The way you can use your electric bolts to light further down the tunnel by shooting the water or certain electrical boxes. The lighting is just amazing. Otherwise, Cole looks pretty good and enemies are pretty ordinary and lack a high pixel count. The world looks solid too, but I still havent found my bearings through the city. Really, the grpahics are good/really good, but not great. The physics, powers, particle effects and no load times though are awesome.
More as I care to write it.
Does it have the re ed 'moral decisions' that are as obvious as ever? I like Bioware games, but their "Kill the kid or give him a cookie" decisions for karma are pretty re ed.
Bingo.
Bioware has pretty good moral decisions in their recent games.
Release, then kill the brainwashed soldiers/Release the brainwashed soldiers and leave them to fend for themselves/Keep the brainwashed soldiers in their prisons and let them go down with the facility
None of them are obviously the right choice.
I tried the demo and didn't like it.

I tried the demo the other say at my friend's, it was RUTHLESS.
I'll have to buy a PS3 soon (GOW 3).
I'd assume that most people will try this now and its AWESOME.
Make sure you get the Gigawatt blades add-on from the PSN Store. They're awesome and free.
It's ing awesome;
It's like they combined Batman, Spiderman and badass superpowers
There is also some RPG, with the karma system and how your decisions are going to impact the whole game
Thanks for the heads-up
I downloaded this, or thought I did, the other day. I purchased the free game 1, or however they labeled it, then picked infamous. I downloaded it in the background, watched a movie on it and forgot about it. I came back a day later and I couldn't find the download. It wasn't in the Game section or my cart. I went back to the Store and the free game 1 wasnt there anymore but free game 2 is. I hope Sony doesn't give me any crap over this. I downloaded the demo months ago and dug it.
Cool thanks. I hadn't even gone in that thread.
Beat this tonight. Played through as a good character but I want to do a playthrough as a bad character to see how it changes things. Pretty god damn bad ass though. The lightning storm power is so ing awesome.
Yep. Pretty solid. I wasted entirely too much time on this game this past weekend. I like looking for the blue shards.
Just finished the sequel. So damn good. THIS is my pick for game of the year. I know I'm alone in the assessment, but its just such a great game for me. They improved on every single aspect of the game with the sequel. Can't wait to do the evil playthrough next.
