    Lakers v. Spurs playoff history

    Since 1982, the Lakers have faced the Spurs 11 times in the playoffs, winning eight times and holding an overall edge in games. The Lakers are 4-0 against the Spurs in the conference final, winning 16 of the 19 games played.

    1982...Conference Final...Lakers ... 4-0
    1983...Conference Final...Lakers ... 4-2

    1986...First round.............Lakers ...3-0
    1988...First round ............Lakers ...3-0

    1995...Second round .......Spurs ..... 2-4
    1999*...Second round*......Spurs ..... 0-4
    2001...Conference Final...Lakers.....4-0
    2002...Second round .......Lakers.....4-1
    2003...Second round .......Spurs ..... 2-4
    2004...Second round........Lakers.... 4-2
    2008...Conference Final....Lakers....4-1

    Wow, it's more dominating than anyone could have imagined. The Spurs should pray not to face the lakers in the Playoffs and definitely not in the 1st round or the Conference Finals where THEY ARE WINLESS!

    But are you prepared for the shenanigans that will ensue if the Lakers do what they should do and win the Finals this year? God help us all if that happens.

    It can't be any worse than now. There is no new level of shenanigans. They have peaked. Now all the might happen is you see more of them.

    It is going to suck. My "brother" is a Laker "fan".

    I wouldn't worry so much Jam. Lakeshow is used to winning les, this will be another prize to the collection but nothing worthy of crazy shenanigans.

    I'll be happy for Kobe so that he can shut the haters up once and for all and fans everywhere can begin to appreciate how great of a talent he really is. If anything, a le would be the ultimate vindication for him. I couldn't give two s what these maggots here say about the Lakers.

    Sure. What do the maggots at LakersGround say about the Spurs? Forgive people if they don't like Kobe. I know, that is almost as bas as not liking children, puppies, flowers and classical music.

    It doesn't make any logical sense. Until you realize the extent to which they are grasping at straws. They're so traumatized and filled with laker hate that they'll try to frame arguments in bizarre ways in order to try to make themselves feel superior. They know they lose the who's better argument. So they tell themselves that making the finals and losing is worse than being first round fodder. They know they can't play the history card with us either. So they invent arbitrary time lines like "3 rings to none since 2003 fakerzzz! ZOMG! PWNED!!" Now they have been reduced to jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon of whatever team we play in each round. Hoping against hope that SOMEONE will beat us... because we all know the Spurs can't do it. And then they have the nerve to call laker fans insecure about the Spurs? I think that's what psychologists call projecting.

    What is worse Laker "fans", Spurs fans obsession with the Lakers or the Lakers obsession with being second place to the Celtics or Laker "fans" obsession with Kobe trying to catch Jordan?

    Game 6 of the 2003 WCSF, as some of you have already mentioned. Nice dig at the Hornets, though--even though this is a Lakers-Spurs thread.

    Quite frankly, the Lakers own the Spurs in head-to-head match-ups. Taking shots at other teams won't change that fact.

    Uh, No. I am afraid you are wrong good fellow.
    Here we go again with math class.

    1999 IS PART OF THE 90's o.k?
    In this new decade (the 00's) we have:

    Spurs = 3
    Lakers = 3

    Nice try in attempting to insert that '99 le in this current run.
    It ain't happening. We are both tied.
