Yep, Lebron is probably going to New York but New York only has one season to get a whole lot better.

I don't see LeBron leaving Cleveland for what the Knicks have now. They have 1 season to get their stuff together.

lebron is pissed off. not even speaking to reporters afterwards. he may be heading to the nets, which will eventually move to brooklyn. should be there by 2011-2012, only one year after lebron james arrives.

I heard the Nets may be closer to moving to Seattle or Kansas City than Brooklyn....though I hope they move to Newark so I can still watch live basketball from time to time.

doesnt really matter if his bolting to the knicks of cavs, he still be in the same position with 2 teams....but if i was him, i probably goto the knicks who dont look like they have the winning roster, but they dont mind overspending every year....

Actually, the Cavs are only $3 million behind the Knicks for payroll this season. They're paying Szczerzbiak $13 million, Ilgauskas something like $11M I think, Eric Snow is getting $7M, scrub-ass Pavlovic is getting something like $4-4.5, and then Ben Wallace's deal too (can't remember what that was, but it's pretty bad).

They were never able to raise the money for that arena in Brooklyn, or what?

The last I heard BB (from the mayor in Newark) was that they had a better chance of heading MUCH further out of state than anywhere locally. My friend who works for the Nets said it was a legal slam dunk when I spoke with him on the matter a few months ago, but somewhere in between things have go awry. Have to do more research regarding the funding part? I pray they simply move to Newark.

    my only source is wikipedia:
As of March 2009[update], the Nets are committed to moving to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the 2011–12 NBA season, overcoming economic concerns and legal opposition, Brett Yormark, the team's chief executive, told Bloomberg Television.[10]
nets supporting cast of lopez, harris, and possibly carter will be 100X better than what lebron has now.

I don't see that team winning anything either. At least the Knicks have the capacity to ignore the salary cap and just get whoever if it means getting LeBron too.

You also have to factor in income taxes. If for example Orlando/Miami and New York were offering the same contract where will he go? To New York where the roster is below average and be hit with a huge tax bill or to Florida where there is no state income tax and a chance to play with either Wade or Howard?
