what is the tendex?
Here is the stats for the first game.
http://www.galanissportsdata.com/bas...e.asp?game=198
Bourousis did his 4th and 5th foul in less than 15 sec. He lost again his focus. IMO that was a critical factor for his team to loose the game.
Beside that his Tendex was 1.095. Huge for a game like that.
Wondering the same thing.
What is Tendex?
Tendex is a rating system that evaluates basketball players on a point-per-minute basis. It is the result of a formula that sports writer Dave Heeren developed in 1960 while at the University of Delaware.
Heeren, who retired recently from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale, was way ahead of the basketball talent evaluation curve when he factored 10 statistical categories, along with rate of improvement and intangibles, to arrive at a quotient.
The Tendex formula computes points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocked shots, missed shots, turnovers, strength of schedule and game pace (different for up-tempo and slowdown teams).
It is said in Greek championship that Bourousis has serious offers from NBA and he will decide within 10 days if he will stay in Olympiacos or sign in NBA. Most serious team is Spurs.
Is that a newspaper?

So now what do all the fans here calling me a liar about his level have to say?
Do you know how to read? Most of the people in here are saying he'd be ok on the team...I even think he'd be a good addition...we're just saying he's not our freaking savior...you need to get off the drugs, dude.
Louisiana has been hot lately, so Kill Bill's brain is a tad fried.
I thought he was in Arkansas.
Still waiting.

If the guy takes the contract and can play, that's great. Still won't call him a savior.
Just can't buy it , sorry. No writer here , just another salt n' pepa article. Bourousis manager was today in a meeting with Yanakis and Aggelopoulos Brothers. So that article just saying that agent will ask 2m per year.
Let me give inside info. For last 2 years Spurs have watched every game of Bourousis. For 2008 Olympics and this year with Olympiacos Spurs have in person scout every game he has played in.
That's not an inside info. Anybody here in Greece know about it. Spurs and a lot of NBA teams have a scouter here. But this article is from a political media not a sport media and there is no writer to sign it. So here in Greece we all know that this one is just a manager game and we will see a lot of those articles till Bourousis finally sign.
Just like reading the tabloids.
Who is this guy? Is he any good?
Maybe Olympiacos will keep him with their huge huge contract offers. But you need to be realistic. He does have offer from Spurs it is true and Olympiacos is never going to be a choice over Spurs unless money is very huge which with Angelopulous brothers is possible.
Olympiacos is not Panathinaikos and I am sure Bourousis understands this.
Spurs going Greek? Not so fast
By Jeff McDonald
Perhaps by now you have read this unfortunately translated report out of Greece, intimating that the Spurs have offered a three-year deal to Euroleague star Yiannis Bouroussis.
Perhaps your imagination has already begun to run wild, and you have begun to ponder the implications of a taller, younger version of Luis Scola with 3-point range lining up with Tim Duncan through 2012.
One problem with this scenario: At this point in the offseason, it is against NBA rules for the Spurs to have offered anybody anything. In fact, it is against NBA rules for the Spurs to even contact Bouroussis or his representatives, and will be until July 1.
So we can tell you, without much mental gymnastics, that the Greek report is incorrect. Or at best premature. The Spurs have offered Bouroussis nothing. Yet.
That's not to say Bouroussis, the 6-foot-11 star center for the Greek team Olympiacos, is not a bright blip on the Spurs' radar. They scouted him at the Euroleague Final Four last month, where he performed well for a Spurs contingent that included general manager R.C. Buford, assistant GM Dennis Lindsey and coach Gregg Popovich.
It wouldn't be surprising, after July 1, to see the Spurs tender Bouroussis an offer. We'll have to wait and see.
