Honestly I agree with house here. This did not have the vibe of a finals game. It was even worse than the 2007 finals.

I didn't see the Magic even putting up a fight.

hahaha Stern is probably pissed off but his ass deserves it
2007 were boring as because both teams played slow tempo ugly basketball. At least the viewers got to watch Kobe go into video game mode in the 3rd. Ratings will be much stronger than 2007.
I prefer a game of this flow to the '06 Finals tainted by whistles and the boring uncompe ive '07 Finals.

I agree there just saying it doesn't seem to have the compe iveness or swagger of a finals game.
Neither did the first 4 games of the Pistons/Spurs series FWIW and that ended up being a good series!!
sad thing is it did in the first half prior to SVG benching Alston for Nelson.
No it didn't feel like it in game 1, i wanted to see a close game with a Lakers win.
the Magic even increased their lead in the 1st quarter into the 2nd quarter when Howard picked up his 2nd foul, Gortat did a great job. Right after that is when Nelson checked in and the Lakers made their run the rest of the game.
This is where me and most fans differ. I personally want the easiest opponent that matches up the best that my team can sweep and win every game by 25 points
The Finals won't be entertaining until we're in it in 2010.

This feels like San Antonio vs. Cleavland of 2007 right now.

Like I said. The refs will make this go at least 5 games, favoring the Magic.

It's one ing game...Lakers lost to Houston in Game 1..give it a rest...If Orlando takes game 2, all of a sudden they can win all their games at home and take it. 3 games in a row in Orlando is going to hurt LA IMO
The Magic came out flat against the Lakers. I know it's only 1 game but if they play this the rest of the series, they will get swept. And Howard needs to take advantage from the love he's getting from the refs. Make your free throws, son.
I enjoyed the out of this game. As long as the Lakers bring this intensity every game I'm happy. Orlando had a few open looks but for the most part the Lakers put the clamps on. Impressive for a team that has been said to not play any defense, and that it will be their downfall...

What did you see in this game that makes you think ORL will defeat a hungry and focused Laker team in Game 2?

Um..the fact that LA has been incredibly inconsistent, and Orlando has bounced back and won difficult games on the road against Cleveland and Boston...they don't let a loss affect them...Besides..they know they need to win Game 2...if Orlando loses Game 2, it just may be over.
This is the NBA Finals. There will not be another game where the Laker's effort is inconsistent.
And you did not answer my original question. What specifically did you see in Game 1 that gives you confidence that the Magic will come out and defeat the Lakers on their home floor in Game 2?
