Yeah...if you're talking consistent success, you gotta go with Tim Duncan.
Yeah...if you're talking consistent success, you gotta go with Tim Duncan.
JJ Hickson
Um...ever heard of Shaquille Oneal?
Four les and 6 finals appearances.
Can Duncan compete with that?
Plus in his prime (during this decade) he was the most dominant player ever to play the game. Duncan was never as un-guardable as Shaq was.
Actually, do a blink test:
80s - Magic and Larry
90s - Jordan
2000s - Shaq and Kobe
Most people outside of San Antonio arent aware of how many All-NBA teams Duncan has made etc.
just as I posted, my aircard went down. I was trying to post a poll, and now that I have internet again, it says "you can only post poll within 15 minutes of posting thread."
-Duncan
-Shaq
-Kobe
-Nash
-Garnett
-Iverson
-LeBron
-Mo Williams
-Chris Anderson
-Shawn Bradley
yes. Shaq had Kobe for three and Wade for the other........two MVP caliber players.
Tim won 3 les and 2 MVPs.
you had to put shaq and kobe together when blinking.
It's a tie. If Shaq was a rookie during Jordan's last year, this wouldn't even be a question.
maybe.
so if Kobe wins a le this year, you still think Shaq > Kobe?
Is that you John Wayne? Is this me?
It's 4-4, broseph. Kobe is definitely earning my respect the way he handles himself during the game and post game, though. I love the seriousness.
How am i not surprised?![]()
so you think all three would tie?
he had already earned my respect, but it's reaching a new level
Kobe has always made clutch shots, but I don't think I've ever seen him bang like he did with Melo and display the killer instinct he's been showing during these playoffs.
Technically, if we're talking about the "decade" Shaq has 4 les and Duncan has 3 les.
Either way you look at it, 90s versus 2000s or even the last 10 years. The first of these last 10 years was the 1999-2000 season.

Don't get me wrong, I always thought he was a great player. I just always felt it's so much easier to build around a dominant big man than a guard. Kobe is proving me wrong, though. But it's not like Shaq ever had a team this stacked.
1999-2000 Lakers
and Shaq has one MVP and Duncan 2.
That team was great. But wasn't AC Green the back-up C? The good thing about that team was all the 3 point ready shooters on the team. Harper, Shaw, Kobe, Fox, Horry, Rice
True, and Shaq has 3 Finals MVPs and Duncan 2 Finals MVP over the last decade.
Then you didn't watch the Lakers close enough during their 3 peat.
Lmao, that Magic team was completely stacked. 1st team All NBA Penny. All-Star version of Horace Grant. Bunch of other good roleplayers.
If Kobe wins it this year he'll it win at as the true number 1 option and closer. Shaq won his with Kobe on closer duty in 2000 and as option 1a in 2001/2002 where they traded games as the number 1 option.
