Those sub .500 days are over for Penn State. And believe it or not the recruiting will be even better once Joe Pa leaves.
That's wishful thinking. Penn State's last top 15 recruiting class was 2006, and of the ones that followed, only 2007 was a ranked class at #24 out of 25 they ranked. Ohio State has had a top 10 class 6 out of the last 7 years under Tressel. That is the difference. Penn State doesn't draw top recruits. They will throw together a good class once every 7 or 8 years, and that class will be good for them but there is a huge drop off.

I know what your saying but its still not right to just throw out the 3rd team

everyone knew the rules going in so dont lose or this may happen

now texas, usc, alabama, utah all got ed last year cause they all had one
or 0 loses and there bowl games dident mean .

to be honest i liked the old way better than the bcs

but a playoff is the only fair way to go
Bama, Utah, and USC all had worse strength of schedule. thats why I felt that UT should have been in over Florida. they had equal records, but UT had a considerably tougher strength of schedule. they had a tougher ranked schedule than OU even.

Theres has been a bunch of recruits that have said not knowing Paterno's future has influenced their decision. Including Brian Cushing. They already have five 4-star prospects lined up and a few others (4 and 5) who are stronlgly considering PSU.

Its only a matter of time before they return to the success they had in their independent days.

And about the weak schedule, I completely agree...its really embarrassing and its gonna hurt them. Oh well, heres to the Big 10 come bowl season....god knows we need to get some wins.

before the le game that argument was legit...

Florida beating OU handily in the le game pretty much shows they belonged there.
yeah, but fact is, you dont choose who would be in the le game after. before that, UT had more reason to be in than Florida. Florida just got the SEC bull hype votes, the way USC always does.

before the game, UT and OU had the most reason to be in that game

just like before the big 12 championship, UT had more reason to be in it than OU. same record, UT had a tougher strength of schedule.

yeah I'm not going to pound my chest too hard about being the class of the Big Ten until we win a bowl game again. We came close last year, and started off strong in the BCS with a 4-0 record from 98-06, but have had some down years.
That said, Ohio State right now is the only team in the North that recruits with Texas, USC, Oklahoma,Alabama, LSU and Florida. They have the talent to win, they just can't seem to put it together. Maybe with the class of 2005 out of there, this new class can start winning again.

The difference in the Big Ten is Ohio State recruits with the big boys, while Penn State, Michigan State and others recruit with the middle of the road schools. Only Michigan has the capability to return to getting a steady incoming of top athletes.

UT played FAU (Sun Belt), Rice and @UTEP (C-USA), and Arkansas (SEC). OU played @Washington (Pac-10), Chattanooga (I-AA), TCU (MWC), and Cincy (Big East). Remember TCU was a legit top 15-20 team last year - they only lost to OU and undefeated Utah, and beat BYU and Boise.

    LOL Stretch

Playoffs...until then this will be the argument every year till they do. Utah Utes are the 2009 National Champs...undefeated.
I agree on a playoff system.

And the Florida Gators were the national champs.

    fail

JGW, the epitome of a bandwagon fan....

but I admire his spirit........refusing to admit he is wrong when the other 99.99999999% also disagrees with him.

This is the time of year I wish I could just go into some deep sleep and wake up on the day of the season opener in September. Waiting for the season to start sucks!

And yes, jgw is the biggest bandwagon sob I've ever seen. Problem is, he's too stupid to notice.
