I don't see the matter with criticizing how the presidency has become this ins utionalized potentate living the life of luxury, as well as how no president is allowed much of a chance to go off script. Still, the American myth is that the president is just another fellow citizen, one who left his farm or his shop and headed to the District of Columbia to serve the public. Right.

That is how it used to be. Most people gave up their money to be the president. Presidents like Adams and Andrew Jackson were borderline poor because they spent their lives in public service. Then they had to pay for most of their expenses in the white house.

The governor of Nevada was talking about how much those sentences hurt Las Vegas and that it cost 100's of millions of dollars. What the ? The recession is what hurt Las Vegas you dumb . On a side note... Glenn Beck was saying how great it is that Nevada can have such low taxes and is siphoning off all of Cali's rich people.
Does he not realize that the reason the taxes are so low is because they are assuaged by taxes on pros ution, gambling, and other vices?
