"cash" tips don't mean anything more than CC tips.
I rarely have any cash at all on me. I use my debit card. I canceled my CCs as per Lefty's CC thread...
I guess I can see how waving off your cash change might look more 'cool' to some people.
Let me clarify
The reason why I ask you guys this question is that a friend of mine who is an American dude told me that you American people don’t like putting cash in your wallets and you guys use credit cards only in your daily lives .is this true? If so, what if you want to buy a bottle of coke? Also credit cards only?
It’s extremely interesting for me to hear that cause Chinese like putting a lot cash in our wallets (of course it is based on his income and his wealth) and yes, we have credit cards as well but most of the time we like pay cash to the bills or something we buy., for us, credit card is just for shopping centers and some high class restaurants.
The other reason why we prefer cash to credit card is that if a gentleman had a dinner with his significant other and if he pays cash for the bills always means the man is masculine. Why??? Its because when he paid the bills, the waiter must be returned to him for the change. At that time, he could give the “tips” to the waiter or waitress in order to show to the lady that how rich he is

1 or 2 bills a week
i hate paying with a card and then looking at your statement with the date, time and location of nearly every place youve recently been
plus it defends against the cashless society
Rarely carry cash, use my bank card all the time. Not a Credit card.
I give myself a weekly cash "allowance" of $50 from my paycheck. The rest goes into the bank to pay bills or make bigger purchases. So I almost never have more than $50 in my wallet.
I only take cash when i need to pay for parking...
Don't carry much cash at all - you're lucky to find 10 - 15$ in my wallet...debit card all the way. Credit only for very large purchases.
I'll carry anywhere between $5 and $50, usually $20 or less. Most purchases made on debit card which gives me a $0.10 rebate per transaction done on the 'credit' side (even tho the money is immediately debited from the account).
Pay bills (utility, car, house, insurance, prop tax) online.
I have $50 as a birthday present in my wallet that I haven't spent yet. If it went in the bank I would surely spend it on something else. Otherwise I have like $15-20 for lunches or random things that come up.
Like others have mentioned, I'd rather use my debit card or credit card. I can keep track of things much more easily that way. That doesn't mean I always use my card though. I'll take cash out if I know exactly how much I'm going to spend, like for a movie or a night out with the girls/guys at the bar (then it'll cut me off at a certain amount).
Oh yeah. I get that too..or something like that. It's 3 cents for every debit. But Chase is taking that away come July so I have no incentive to debit anything. I think in the 2 years I had a WaMu account they gave me back like $15. It was a sweet deal.
you and the countless other people and corporations that have access to that informationI'd rather use my debit card or credit card. I can keep track of things much more easily

i like people who are quick to point that they use their debit cards and not credit cards
uhh yeah good choice yall should write a financial book
I use debit or credit cards for almost everything. I normally carry only about $20 or less, and that's just for lottery.
What is that supposed to mean? Yeah, the bank has access to it. So what?
I only use debit cards for online purchases. I don't keep too much cash on me unless there is something expensive I plan on purchasing that day. I don't use credit cards period. If I want something, I'm gonna make sure I have the cash for it in hand instead of putting off the payment until later.
And I should be afraid of that why?
same ^
oh yeah i don't want them to see i spent 23.65 at target...heavens no!
Most of the time I have around 10 dollars.
However much I think I need. Cash is the universal solvent, and a wonderful hedge against contingency.
I only carry 40 bucks in cash, that's it, and I never use it.
I only use my cards. The cash is for emergencies or if a gas station doesn't accept cards or something,
double post
hey yall have nothing to hide right?

Yeah somethinhg similar was posted before, but it wasn't quite as interesting.
It's funny to hear about how the Chinese do things differently than we do.
I suppose if you were trying to stroke your own ego that opening a wallet with a handfull of Gold cards would be just as good as cash.
Personally I don't carry any cash.
I carry cash and still prefer to pay cash for just about everything- like grocery store, restaurants,... So, usually I have about $100 cash on me.
I use my credit card for online purchases or for larger purchases for which I do not want to carry that much cash always paying the balance in full each month. The best thing about using cash is you don't buy anything if you have no money on you.
What do I have to hide?
