    Awesome win today.

    Padilla looked DAMN DAMN good.

    Michael Young is a witch.

Nelson Cruz is a freaking all star.

Darren O'Day is the FA steal of the year SO FAR!

Now time to take 3 of 4 from the Jays.

The one loss obviously to Halladay.

Except for one thing: Halladay won't start in this series. We just miss him since he started today.

edit: and also, notice how Halladay's record is 10-1? The Rangers are the reason for the "1"... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=290421114

Believe me, Halladay is breathing a HUGE sigh of relief that he's not gonna face us.

3 teams struggling offensively in Toronto, LA and Houston coming to Arlington. How lucky are the Rangers to miss Holladay when the Jays come into town for a 4 game series .

Rangers have been playing well at home, anything less than 6-4 homestand will be a big disappointment

I don't get it ... does anyone here actually watch Rangers baseball? The Rangers are quite good against Roy Halladay. His ERA vs. the Rangers in 20 career games was somewhere hovering around 5.40 last I checked.

A little good news today, mostly bad.

Ron Washington gets his 2010 option exercised.

but Hamilton & McCarthy on the DL and Rangers lose.

I want to be optimistic but I have a feeling the bottom is going to fall out of this thing. Not necessarily tanking for the entire season, but I don't know if we'll be saying "first place Texas Rangers" for much longer.

    I doubt it.

We might not win the division at the end of the year but i seriously doubt the "bottom is gonna fall out."

Trust me, a loss to the Blue Jays means nothing. The only losses that really matter are ones in your division and the ones against other divisional leaders.

This is still a talented team either way, and we still have four solid starters Millwood, Padilla, Harrison, Feldman.

Yeah it sucks that we drop one at home to the Blue Jays but that happens in baseball. There are 162 games in a season

Tomorrow is my first Rangers game of the season! I'll be in the right field home run seats, section 44 next to the foul pole.

Yeah but it's the Rangers. This one loss doesn't mean much, but things could go south real quick for these guys. I think the starting pitching has been solid, but I wouldn't call those pitchers "solid" other than Millwood.

I love how this team is playing but I'm not going to get my hopes up that they'll be in the playoff race for the rest of the season. They weren't even supposed to be contenders until next year, that's what I keep telling myself.

Yeah he did, but now he needs surgery and he'll be out 4-6 weeks.

Over the past few weeks after losses i keep telling myself that this team is about to come back to earth but they keep responding...however, mounting injuries with Ham, Frankie, B-Mac, Harrison have me worried.

I hope JD doesnt trade away prospects for spare veteran pitchers like the Rangers have done in the past like Todd Stottlemyer, Adam Eaton, Scott Erickson

You guys need to get rid of Jennings!! Every time he was on the mound I knew he was going to get lit up. Is he your mid relief extra innings guy?

he is probably exceeding expectations. The guy can only start innings, whenever he inherits runners, they alway score. His ERA is in the low 3's but in my mind its only a matter of time before he blows up

Yeah I cringe when I see that guy on the mound. That bas was hurt when he was with us (Astros) and that er never told anyone. He seems to be healthy now but yeah he doesnt handle runners on base very well.

Matthew Purke at 14 this is what baseball america says about him

Baseball America: Purke and Tyler Matzek were the top two prep lefties all summer in 2008, and they maintained that status in 2009. Matzek went 11 to the Rockies, and Purke is now off the board at 14. He's got a 92-95 mph fastball at his best and has one of the draft's best sliders.
In other words, it's pretty good value at 14, if he's signable.

i read that his dad was asking for a 7 million signing bounes

    From the Newberg Report Email:

Texas has selected RHP Tanner Scheppers with the 44th pick in the draft. A consensus top-ten talent, Scheppers fell because of lingering concerns about his shoulder. He’d been drafted 48th last year and didn't sign due to that same shoulder. Per the MLB scouting bureau, Scheppers ranged from 93 to 98 on his fastball with the indy Saint Paul Saints and showed a good power curve. If truly healthy, he’s a steal as a supplemental pick.

    Again from the Newberg Report:

The Rangers have made their fourth and final selection of the night, taking
Scotts Valley (Calif.) HS lefthander Robbie Erlin with their third-round
pick. A Cal Poly commit, the 5'11" southpaw is considered a likely sign.
Features a lively 89-92 fastball and a plus curve.

Rounds 4 through 30 will take place tomorrow, and rounds 31 through 50 will
    be conducted on Thursday.

the draft im more worried about the team this year...the MLB draft is such a crap shoot that being a 1st or 2nd rounder doesnt mean a damn thing. I read that of a teams 50 players that it drafts in a given year, on average only about 5 will ever see atleast one game in the majors.

While the Rangers have a deep farm system, reality is that a majority of those guys wont do jack at the major league level. I hope JD doesnt hold on to alot of those guys too long
