New AAC Video Screens: 5,616 Sq. Feet Of HD
Between Cuban And Jones, The DFW Revolution Will Be Televised
By Mike Fisher -- DB.com
By the time Mark Cuban and Jerry Jones are done, I have a feeling there will be a 30-mile TV screen stretching from Arlington all the way to downtown Dallas. As it is, for now, for Mavs fans (and the rest of the patrons at American Airlines Center) this will have to suffice:
They are installing a set of mammoth “HD 1080’’ screen/scoreboards at the AAC. … 5,616 square-feet of video walls.
Details, as described on the AAC website, along with some quick takes:
*American Airlines Center is tripling the size of its scoreboards -- see that photo above of the existing set-up and TRIPLE IT -- with new video boards capable of showing the live action in HD. A total of six video scoreboards will be installed offering a total of 5,616 square feet of digital HD 1080 sights. (Thus making the plus-size Mavs ManiAACs even plusser.)
* Four 18’ X 30’ video scoreboards will be installed in the arena’s center display and two 24’ X 72’ video walls will be located in the North and South ends of the arena. (Marking the end of a problem at the AAC for people sitting on either end who couldn’t see up to the graphic boards on the other ends.)
* Comprised of more than 13-million LEDs (light-emitting-diodes), each of the new displays can present live-action video, graphics or alphanumeric information in clear, crisp HD. (Nobody does video stuff better than the Mavs. … and nobody is more curious at how controversial calls will look in 5,616 feet of HD than Tony Cubes.)
* Matching the spectacular HD video experience will be a state-of-the-art concert quality sound system. The new digital six speaker linear system will deliver audio effects that the American Airlines Center visitor can both feel and hear. (So good even George Strait concertgoers won’t complain!)
*The entire one-of-a-kind sight and sound system will be available for the start of the 2009-2010 basketball and hockey seasons and will provide the ultimate showcase for the 2010 NBA All-Star weekend activities at American Airlines Center, February 14, 2010. (Yet another example of Cuban and the NBA keeping up its end of the bargain with it’s “biggest-party-ever’’ promise made along with Jerry Jones. …
I'm almost going to start the playoffs with my team:
Derrick Rose
Trevor Ariza
Ron Artest
Paul Millsap
Shaq
My bench is though.
Manu's solar panel is going to look like the ozone hole on that thing![]()
I did a fantasy draft and here's my team:
Andrew Bynum
Lamarcus Aldridge
Peja Stojakovic
JR Smith
Russell Westbrook
Bench:
Brandon Rush
Jason Thompson
Donte Green
Mike Taylor
JJ Hickson
Good squad. Shannon Brown is my 6th man off the bench
I had to give up a lot to get Rose.
Peja is being a though he's ing about his PT but he gets fatigued so quickly. That is lucky his stroke is extremely easy to time in that game.
And good pick with Westbrook.
All of these extremely fast PG's are unstoppable(Parker, Rose, Harris, Westbrook, Ellis)
Bynum is unstoppable he's won back to back MVP's and his rating is up to 99. JR Smith isn't even fair either lol.
Damn...![]()
