Goaltend
I think people should get of SVG and this kids back. It was an excellent play and Gasol rotated on D altering his shot. Sure it was a makable shot, but LA made it hard as they could and got lucky he missed. Now if no one on D rotated, yeah, IŽd be mad.
Man, it's tough blaming that kid for the way things went down on Sunday. He's done a nice job for them all year. And that would have been a of a make had he made it. It's not as if it was a bunny.
I just knew he had to make that. I've seen it time and time again. When a team thinks they should have won in regulation they never recover in overtime.
Not necessarely true; remember game 5 of the 2005 NBA Finals
At the end of regulation, Duncan missed the easy putback, but we still won the damn game in OT
Lmao dwight nice try
Unfortunately it was
I still don't get how everyone is calling it a blown layup, major gaffe, etc. There were .6 seconds left and he was catching the ball on an alley oop with a big dude flying at him. He was just trying to get the damn thing off. This isn't anywhere near the ballpark of Nick Anderson missing 4 straight FREE THROWS.
Wow, I saw it in game (watching on a ty web feed) but didn't realize he was actually touching the ball through the hoop. And Stern's refs missed THAT?![]()
Amazing, the refs can't see such a blatant GT. It never should have reached overtime.
Can you guys imagine how much of a hero Lee would have been if he had made that layup? Hes only a rookie, i can just imagine Lee making it and the Magic celebrating off the court.
I would have died if he made that.
Damn that was a great play call by Ron Jeremy. And probably Lee was the only guy on the court who have been that open. Risky since he's a rookie but he also had the best chance of getting a clear shot.
Didn't anyone catch the Gasol basket interference? If you watch Gasol on that play, he slams the backboard with his hand, the reverberation of it causing that ball to carom way harder than normal.
I had to watch it a few times to figure it out, because the shot looks perfect on the delivery and also on the backboard, but after it hits the board it suddenly takes a weird bounce, this probably should have been caught by the officials, especially on a last second play like that.
If Gasol doesn't slam the backboard that ball drops right through the net, and the series is tied 1-1.
The Howard goaltend was a terribly missed call too, as the pictures above clearly show.. but I would say a blown call in the 1st quarter hurts alot less than a blown call at the end of the game, especially in the last 10 seconds of the game.

Even lakers coach Phil Jackson said their should have been basket interference called on Gasol.
Pretty funny to think about, I wonder what he would have said in the heat of the moment, had that call been made. Easy to say after you won the game, but I still find it odd he would admit a mistake that benefited his team.
Phil Jackson must be pretty confident about winning this thing if he can have an honest moment like that. Either way, the magic could and should be in the drivers seat with 2-1 lead right now with 2 home games on tap, if the officials were doing their jobs.
