He took a 50 win team and made them a 60 win team. Impressive.

Because we had major injuries, like every other contender. LeBrons may or may not count.
Lack of health is all that can stop it.I'll be waiting 2-3 years...then i can eat crow right..![]()

is that what stopped them in even years?
It would be even more hilarious arguing with clueless Laker fans about Kobe > Jordan topics, with them saying Gasol is talentless despite his 20/10 averages, and Odom showing up big against the Nuggets.
You last few hanging on to te hate is funny to me.
I agree Duncan deserves the most praise in this argument because he has won the most rings with out a true Superstar next to him. Manu is the closest ...and Parker is on his way but he won 4 with a streaky but clutch manu as the 2nd best player for only 3 of them and an agiing robinson as the other ...
SO Duncan is best of this decade if Kobe wins he is 2nd ...
Shaq is great but couldnt wn woithout Kobe or wade THAT is what you guys should be focusing on Shaq didnt win with Penny, edie jones van exel, Scott Grant etc. or nash amare etc .
HE is the one that needs a HOF'er more than Duncan or Kobe ...
No argument from me ... Jordan & Magic are better than Kobe ...in fact, Kobe is not the greatest Laker much less the GOAT
Um, Shaq has been to the finals twice without Kobe and had to beat some really good teams (the Bulls with Jordan, the Pistons in 06) to get there.
Kobe was gift-wrapped a le thanks to injuries to mulitple teams and STILL nearly screwed it up.
How do you need 7 games to defeat the Yao-less, McGrady-less rockets? Or how do you explain his crappy performance in game 2.
Pathetic.
So did the Mavericks, like every other contender. LeBrons may or may not count.
lol
lovely lady humps
Give 15 big men better than him in the NBA.
So if he's in the top 15 in the NBA and the NBA is the greatest league in the world, that would make him elite.
And he ain't on Memphis anymore players get better. Live and learn.
After the missing the final game and Spain winning without him, and then last year losing in the finals in a blowout in Boston, plus hearing about how soft he is for the past 2 years.. I'm sure this dude has taking all that and used it as fuel to improve.
So the fact remains Kobe still has an elite big man next to him, plus an Odom and a proven D.Fisher, plus maturing before our eyes Ariza, and throw in Bynum too.
Here's an interesting article... Is Kobe's legacy sealed whether he wins a ring or not?
Fisher has been a liability in the playoffs...that Houston series would've been over in 5 if we had a quick defensive PG starting
I think Kobe is arguably a better basketball player than Magic. My only issue with Kobe, has never been his skills or capabilities... its his leadership. I think it's consistently been questionable and streaky. At times he looks like a natural born leader, other times he looks lost and gives up. He settles for bad jumpshots far too often. That's the real issue with him IMO... he often leans on the jumper to set him up for drives, when it really should be the other way around... leaning on easy buckets and interior points, to open up the jumpshot late in games when defenders are tired, he is tired, and the team is entirely focused on not giving up easy buckets to him.
MJ was always better at driving, drawing fouls, and instilling a fear in his opponents, often getting their interior defenders into foul trouble, forcing them to back off or foul out late in games.
If Kobe was the relentless driver that MJ was, they wouldn't have lost to the Pistons or Celtics, and there would be much more legit comparisons between him and Jordan. I've always thought Kobe was a damn good player, and my only issue with him has been his thought process between when to drive, when to shoot, and when to pass.
I think its very possible that MJ, Kobe, and Lebron could go down as the 3 greatest players in NBA history.
Yea but recently he's been making those little plays that win games, like that steal in overtime in game 2.
Btw your sig is amazing.
It is not enough that the team has one of the best center in the league, a backup center Laker fans touting as the next Duncan at the beginning of the year, a versatile PF, three point shooters, and all, you have to have a good PG as well.
Well that just says how good Kobe is right there.
Will do!
Well, it HAS been SEVEN YEARS since he won a le, so it's not really hate, just telling it like it is. It's looking like he'll finally get it done this year. Yes, the Lakers' road this year has been easier than most, but it's not the Lakers' fault that the other teams had injuries. Kobe and the Lakers BETTER win the le this year...they have no excuses if they don't.
I can't believe players (and refs) still fall for that Kobe lean in.![]()
